Pocahontas

The film tells the story of when the English settlers in Jamestown meet with a local tribe of Powhatan Indians.

Pocahontas is a young Indian woman who is unsure of her path in life. Along with her friends, Meeko the raccoon, and Flit the hummingbird, she visits Grandma Willow, a counseling tree spirit.

She meets John Smith, a brave English captain and they fall in love as she teaches him to understand and respect the world around him.

Governor Ratcliffe is the leader of the English settlers, who are intent of finding gold in the New World, and are convinced that the Indians are hiding it from them. One of the settlers, Thomas, kills Kocoum, an Indian brave. John Smith lets the Indians think that he is responsible and is condemned to death.

Pocahontas begs her father, Chief Powhatan, to spare his life, and in doing so realises that her path in life is to bring peace between her tribe and the settlers.

An angry Governer Ratcliffe severely wounds Smith and he has to return to England, leaving Pocahontas behind, but each of then knowing that their lives have been made richer for the love that they shared.
