Wristbands Removed for EMH

WDW Resort guests attending evening Extra Magic Hours will no longer have to go through the rigmarole of queuing for an EMH wristband as Disney have confirmed the system has been scrapped with immediate effect. Instead, guests will be required to produce their “Key to the World” room keys or any other valid resort ID to cast members before riding the attractions.

Following on from my last article, here I’ll look at whether the full dining plan is worth paying extra for.

What does the standard dining plan include?

The Magic Your Way Package plus Quick Service Dining is new for 2009, following on from the success of the standard Dining plan. One question I hear asked a lot is if it’s worth paying extra for the dining plan. That’s what I hope to answer with this article.

Walt Disney World Escapes Worst of the Weather

Tropical Storm Fay’s presence continues to be felt around the Walt Disney World area as it very slowly moves off to the east of the State, although its effects are starting to subside. Only light winds and rain blighted park-goers experience yesterday, with the threat of an early park closing not coming to pass. Crowds were noticeably lighter than normal however, which meant short wait times at the attractions for those who chose to brave the conditions.

Okay so you’ve booked your Disney vacation – now what? If you’re like me you have a long countdown until you can say “I’m going to Disney tomorrow!” A lot of people think that once you have your lodging and park tickets booked that you are set to go; however one of the best things to enjoy in Disney are the endless food options! And since I highly recommend the Disney Dining Plan you’re going to want to take advantage of making reservations as far in advance as you can (which will most likely soon only be 120 days in advance instead of Disney’s usual 180 days).  Having a schedule/itinerary for each day of your trip will not only keep you organized, but it will also ensure you get to do and see what you want to while you’re there. It takes a little research and planning but my feeling is, you are paying this money to go, you should make the most of it!

Walt Disney World

Confusion has arisen following the news that the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party planned for October 3rd has been removed from the schedule. Seemingly the disruption rolls into the 4th too, with reports of people being told conflicting information that the park will close at 3pm on the 4th, others 5pm, whilst the official site lists the park as closing at 9pm. Some have even been contacted by Disney Dining to re-schedule dinner ADR’s booked at the Magic Kingdom restuarants.
So what is the reason for all this confusion you might ask. Well it is believed that a press event of some kind has moved into the evening vacated by the MNSSHP removal, with a Miley Cyrus 16th Birthday bash mooted as one possible cause (this despite her official birth date being well over a month later).

More Options for Magic Kingdom Guest’s During Free Dining

With the free dining period almost upon us, Disney have chosen to open up two additional dining areas at its Magic Kingdom park to cope with the expected influx of hungry diners at its counter service and table service venues.
The Tomorrowland Terrace (occasionally known as the Tomorrowland noodle station) will open temporarily on select dates (24th & 31st of August and 7th & 14th of September) and offers guests a buffet style dinner option, serving carved-to-order meats, salads, pasta and breads amongst other things. Cost will $35 for guests aged 10 and up, $18 for the kidlets aged 3-9 and will count as one table service credit (per person) for Disney Dining Plan users.

On January 31, 2007 a large number of people logged onto Disney cruise line’s site, had a request in with their preferred travel agent and / or got on the phone to Disney cruise reservations in hopes to reserve a room on this popular itinerary. Much to everyone’s surprise, expecially Disney cruise line, the cruise sold out in a few hours that day. A few rooms have become available since but not many and those were booked just as quickly
