New Pocahontas storytelling and character meet & greet changes
Camp Minnie-Mickey is home to the new “Good Times Gathering Spot” for the summer. Guests can meet Chip & Dale, Meeko, Koda and Kenai, plus attend a storytelling with Pocahontas. There will also be a DJ playing kid’s music, along with fun, games and dancing. The area will be open 10am-3pm daily through August 8, 2009.
Characters Terk, Baloo, King Louie and Flik will be temporarily relocating from Discovery Island to the pathway from Asia to Africa.
Extra Magic Hours addition
Kali River Rapids has been added to the Animal Kingdom morning extra magic hour schedule through August 22, 2009.
Premium Spaces at Water Parks can now be reserved
The premium spaces, Polar Patios at Blizzard Beach and Beachcomber Shacks at Typhoon Lagoon, that we reported on recently, can now be reserved in advance by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.
Camp Kidani
Camp Kidani kid’s club is now open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Kids aged 6-12 can take part in the camp, which runs from 6-8pm, 7 days a week. The kids work with a guide and take part in various activities, working towards a goal – African culture or animals. At the end of the evening a pin is awarded for achieving that day’s goal.
The camp is only open to guests staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas.
The cost per camp is $31.95 (inc tax).

4th July Fireworks
Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky, runs July 2 through July 5. The “Magical” fireworks show returns July 6.
Studio 365
Studio 365 is now open at Downtown Disney. The new makeover boutique is a one-of-a-kind specialty store offering guests aged 3 and over a unique chance to rock out like some of their favorite Disney Channel stars.

- From The Top –Your hair, our unique style,$29.95.
- Color Cue – Includes a unique twisted pony design and choice of up to four colored streaks, $39.95.
- That’s A Wrap – Includes five front braids and high pony twists, your choice of faux hair tousled pony and a lace stretch headband, $49.95.
- Spotlight – Includes two French braids wrapped to each side, your choice of faux hair pony tail and a flower hair accessory, $49.95.
- Secret Star – Includes a Hannah Montana-inspired wig with sequined headband, rocker light-up headset and a themed face gem, $59.95.
- Rock Star –Studio Disney 365 also features a special treatment for those upcoming rock stars. The “Rock Star” look for boys is $18.95 plus tax and includes a slicked-back or spiked hairstyle with colored gel tips, smokey eyes, a downloadable photo file and a customized lanyard with photo.
