If it’s your first time traveling to Disney World, things can get pretty confusing on deciding what ticket is right for you. This is a brief guide that will give you a leg up on what to look for when purchasing your Disney World tickets.
Understanding Disney’s Magic Your Way Tickets
How do I choose a ticket?
The most important thing in determining which Magic Your Way ticket is right for you is to decide how many days you want or plan to spend at the 4 major Disney World parks.
- Disney’s Magic Kingdom
- Disney’s EPCOT
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom
First decision is to plan and know how many days you want to spend at the parks. You can purchase through us 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 10 day tickets.
You won’t find discounts on any 1 or 2 day packages to Disney World unless you are willing to attend a timeshare tour. Timeshare tours do deliver on their discounts but be prepared to spend a lot of time being toured and pressure pitched. You will start to see savings from 3 day packages and up. The more days you buy the more you save.
Next decision you want to make is which of the 4 different options you would like with your ticket. Remember ALL of Disney’s tickets are called Magic Your Way so don’t let the name confuse you.
Your choices are:
-Magic Your Way Base Tickets (Allows you admission into 1 of the 4 major parks each day. You may exit and reenter the same park on that same day, just have your hand stamped).
-Magic Your Way Hopper Tickets (Allows you to go in and out of each of the 4 parks as much as you’d like each day. You can visit multiple parks on the same day). For example you can visit Epcot in the morning then hop on a shuttle to end your evening at the Magic Kingdom on the same day.
-Magic Your Way Base with Water Park Fun & more Option Read Below for more information on the Water Park Fun & More option.
-Magic Your Way Hopper with Water Park Fun & More Option Read Below for more information on the Water Park Fun & More option.
Finally, you have 2 other choices when purchasing your tickets. Deciding whether or not you want your tickets to expire within 14 days from the first day you use the ticket, or have unused days never expire. Unused days can be saved for use during future visits with a non-expiring Magic Your Way package. However keep in mind tickets are non transferable so whoever uses the first day on the ticket has to use all of the days on that ticket. Tickets are matched up to the original ticket holder via biometric fingerprint.
Option Advice
Park Hopper option Adding a Park Hopper to your Base ticket allows you entry into all 4 of the Major Parks on any given day. Some suggestions in deciding whether or not a Park Hopper Ticket is right for you are:
-Do you have any small children that may easily tire and not be able to hop between park to park
-Do you only have a few days to see Disney World but want to see as much as you can in say 3 or 4 days?
-You may be better off with a Magic Your Way Base ticket if you are physically restrained in any way and want to get the most out of one day to a park. Also during the busy summer season, lines can be long so you could end up spending an entire day at one park scrambling to see as many rides and shows as possible.
Water Park Fun & More option You can add this option to any Magic Your Way Base or Hopper Ticket for a reasonable increase in price. These extra admissions allow you entry into the smaller ‘minor parks’ and other activities located in the Disney World Resort area. They are:
- Nine Holes of Golf at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course
- Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
- Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park
- Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex
- DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park
We offer the Water Park Fun & More option on any of our 3, 4,5,6,7, and 10 packages. Here’s a simple breakdown of how many extra visits you get to the additional parks depending on how many Base or Hopper Days you purchase:
3 Day ticket 3 EXTRA ADMISSIONS
4 Day ticket 4 EXTRA ADMISSIONS
5 Day ticket 5 EXTRA ADMISSIONS
6 Day ticket 6 EXTRA ADMISSIONS
7 Day ticket 7 EXTRA ADMISSIONS
10 Day ticket 10 EXTRA ADMISSIONS
Here are a few tips on understanding how these extra days work.
For example if you purchase a 5 Day Base or Hopper Tickets with Water Park Fun & More option you will receive 5 extra days to visit any of the 6 minor parks. So in total you will get 10 days Of Disney World, 5 for the Major Parks and 5 separate visits to the minor parks. The extra admissions may be used on separate days from the theme parks or on the same day.
So for example if you go to Magic Kingdom on Monday and DisneyQuest Monday Night that will leave you with 4 more days to the Major Parks and 4 to the minor parks.
Difference between tickets that Expire 14 days from first use and tickets with No Expiration.
Tickets that have expiration on them have to be used within 14 days from the first day you use the ticket.
Expiring tickets do not have a start date. So you can purchase today for use anytime in the future. The 14 day expiration does not start until your first day of usage.
No Expiration Tickets never expire so you can buy a 10 day ticket for example, use 3 days now and the other 7 any time in the future whether it’s next year or 10 years from now. Remember the tickets are non-transferable. Disney world has each Adult guest scan their index finger and sign the ticket when you first arrive to the turnstiles at the Park entrances.
Your last step is to start enjoying the magic at Disney World!
