Halloween at Downtown Disney

Kids of all ages can enjoy free trick-or-treating at Downtown Disney from 5-9pm on October 30 and 31 this year. Stores including World of Disney, Once Upon a Toy and Pooh Corner are all taking part. Kids are encouraged to dress up for the event, where they can also see magicians, stilt walkers, and dance the night away at the Fountain Stage dance party.

Water play area at Contemporary

A new water play area has opened at the Contemporary Resort. Featuring a variety of interactive fountains which kids will love!

DISNEY IN GENERAL

Marvel Characters

Disney have said they have no plans to use the Marvel characters in any of their Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks or Tokyo Disneyland. This is due to the fact that Universal Orlando have a pre-existing licensing deal to use the Marvel characters in their Theme Parks, and Universal have contractual rights to use Spider-Man in Japan. Instead we may see the likes of Spider-Man and The Incredible Hulk appearing in Disneyland California or Disneyland Paris.

Lamp maker sues Disney/Pixar

Disney/Pixar are being sued by Norwegian lamp maker Luxo over their use of Pixar’s mascot Luxo Jr. The small lamp has been used as a mascot by Pixar since 1986. The Norwegian company are accusing Pixar of copyright infringement after they sold a limited edition Luxo Jr. lamp with the Blu-Ray version of “Up.”
