Chef Mickey’s Price Increase

The cost of the dinner buffet at Chef Mickey’s will increase on October 3, 2010 to: $36.20 for adults, and $18.10 for children (3-9). Seasonal pricing will be $40.46 for adults, and $20.23 for children (3-9).

Character Greeting Area

A newly refurbished character meet and greet area is now open next to Epcot’s Mexico Pavillion and will feature regularly scheduled appearances from Donald Duck.
Donalds amigo’s, Jose & Panchito (The Three Cabelleros) may also make appearances here periodically.

Old Key West

Disney’s Old Key West rooms are getting a major refurbishment, and will benefit from the addition of new flat–panel TVs, granite countertops and the addition of a sleeper chair in the one and two bedroom villas. Bedding and pillows, drapes, rugs, chairs, carpeting, lamps and furniture will also be replaced. The refurbs are taking place building by building.

Aulani Preview

A presentation about the new Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Hawai’i will take place for WDW Annual Passholders at Disney’s Contemporary Resort on Sunday July 25. Sign up at the Passholder website to reserve your place.

Happy Birthday Disneyland!

Disneyland will celebrate its 55th anniversary on July 17, with a dedication ceremony taking place in Town Square at noon. Special merchandise will also be available, along with commemorative 55th Anniversary cakes.

GENERAL

MAC Cosmetics Disney Villains line

MAC Cosmetics have teamed up with Disney to produce a Venomous Villains line. The new cosmetic range includes blusher, eye shadows, lipstick, nail polish and powder inspired by Disney villains including Cruella De Vil from “101 Dalmatians,” Maleficent from “Sleeping Beauty,” “Snow White’s” Evil Queen and Doctor Facilier from the “Princess and the Frog.”

The range will be in stores from September 30, and retails at between $12 and $30.

D23′s Star Tours Final Flight Event at the Disneyland Resort

Get ready to visit a galaxy far, far away one last time! After Disneyland has closed to the general public, D23 Members are invited to take an exhilarating “final flight” to the Moon of Endor before Star Tours suspends departures as it readies for its 2011 reimagining.

Ticket requests for this event will be available via e-mail tomorrow morning, July 15, at 10 a.m. PDT. There is no charge above Disneyland Park admission. Check In begins at 10 p.m. and ends at midnight on Monday, July 26, 2010.

This year is the 55th anniversary of Disneyland Resort, and D23 is celebrating this milestone year with the premiere of Destination D: Disneyland ’55, a brand-new, two-day event that illuminates the fascinating history behind Disney’s flagship park.
