Main Street Electrical Parade Extended

Disney have confirmed that the Main Street Electrical Parade at Magic Kingdom will continue indefinitely. The nighttime parade replaced Spectromagic for the Summer Nightastic season which ends on August 14.

New menu items at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

New items on the menu at the park’s restaurants include shrimp cocktail at 50′s Prime Time Cafe, tiramisu in a shake glass at Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, a new pork chop creation at Hollywood Brown Derby and vegetarian options at Hollywood & Vine.

New Show Coming to the Studios

“High School Musical 3: Senior Year – Right Here! Right Now!” will finish its run at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on October 2, and will be replaced by a brand new show on October 22. The new show will feature a variety of music from Disney Channel hit shows, includingthe “High School Musical” series, “Camp Rock” and “StarStruck.”

Price Increase

Characters in Flight, at Downtown Disney West Side, has raised its prices by $2. Adults now pay $18 each, and kids (3-9) $12 each to ride.

DISNEYLAND

New Show at DCA

The same new show as described above will be debuting at Disney California Adventure on October 22, with the current High School Musical show ending on October 17.

DISNEY CRUISE LINE

New Dream Photos

Testing began on the new Disney Dream ship’s five engines this week. The ship is under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, ready for it’s maiden voyage on January 26, 2011. See photos here.

Disney sell Mirmax

The Walt Disney Co has agreed to sell Miramax for more than $660 million to Filmyard Holdings LLC. The sale of Miramax includes rights in more than 700 movie titles, including Academy Award winners such as “Chicago,” and “Shakespeare in Love,” Disney said. The Miramax sale is expected to close between September 10 and year end, Disney said.
