New Themed Rooms?

Several people have reported receiving surveys from Disney asking their opinions on two new hotel room themes. Following on from the success of the pirate themed rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, the new room themes are Haunted Mansion and Royal rooms. The Haunted Mansion rooms feature floating Doom Buggy beds, and a sliding bookcase that creates a hidden passage to the bathroom. Guests could also look forward to seeing glow-in-the-dark, cartoon-like footsteps mysteriously appear on the ceiling as the evening sets in, and a ghost appear in the mirror. Remember that these rooms appear to only be at the concept stage, and there’s no knowing if they’ll actually be put into place anywhere. However, if they are, I’d expect the Haunted Mansion themed rooms to go at Port Orleans French Quarter, and the Royal rooms to go in Port Orleans Riverside.

New Bibbidi-Bobbidi Boutique Package

On September 19, the Cool Dude package at Magic Kingdom and Downtown Disney’s Bibbidi-Bobbidi Boutiques will be replaced by the Knight Package. The new package includes hairstyle, sword and shield.

New Poncho Styles

Adults can now buy Mickey Mouse ponchos at Disney World, complete with ears on the hood!

Vacation Packages

2011 Vacation Package are now available. A new benefit on all Magic Your Way Packages for 2011 is a 15% discount on the regular hourly rate at a Children’s Activity Center at a select Disney Resort hotel. Dining plan packages no longer include two beverages at breakfast (previously included one juice plus one non-alcoholic beverage), and just now include one non-alcoholic beverage at each table service meal. During the period commencing August 9, 2010 and ending July 31, 2012, D23 is offering a new benefit program called ‘Refer A Fan,’ in which a D23 Member who refers a friend to purchase a new Gold- or Silver-level membership will receive the following special gifts:

Refer one (1) fan who becomes a new D23 Member, receive one (1) pin
Refer five (5) fans, receive one (1) pin set
Refer ten (10) fans, receive a tour of the Walt Disney Archives
Refer fifteen (15) fans; receive one (1) year of a free Gold level D23 Membership
