Here are our picks of the best attractions for pre-schoolers at Disneyland Paris:
Playhouse Disney – Live on Stage!
This show was made for toddlers! Featuring favorites from the Playhouse Disney channel, including Mickey Mouse, Pooh, Handy Manny and the Little Einsteins. It’s an interactive show, with everyone sat on the floor, and kids are encouraged to join in, get up and dance. Little ones will just love the falling paper leaves and bubbles floating down during the 20 minute show.
Cars Race Rally
Head down to Radiator Springs, based on the small town from the Disney•Pixar film, Cars. Two guests hop into one of the 12 cars, which then spin around on a figure of eight-shaped race track. No lap-sitting is allowed, so consider this when taking little ones on, especially as there’s no height limit for guidance. That said, I took my daughter on when she was 18 months and she was fine. The cars do spin quite fast (think teacups full-speed), so kids who suffer motion sickness might want to stay clear of this particular ride!
Stitch Live!
Although some small kids might not understand the jokes told by Stitch in this interactive show, they’ll still enjoy seeing the familiar character on screen and will laugh along with everyone else. The show makes use of new technology, allowing an animated Stitch to interact in realtime with the audience, picking on selected guests, making jokes and engaging in non-stop banter. Check the board outside the attraction for the times of shows which are presented in English.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant
An old classic and probably the most popular ride in Disneyland Park for this age group. Guests board the 2-person elephants which rise up and spin gently around the central hub for a short ride. Guests can control the up and down movement of the Dumbo ride vehicle, ensuring you don’t go any higher than the kids are comfortable with. As this attraction is so popular, with low ride capacity and is slow-loading, it’s best to head there first thing in the morning to avoid long waits.

‘it’s a small world’
Another classic which is a favorite with toddlers, but loathed by a lot of adults! Personally, I’m with the kids and love this ride, and will happily indulge my kids and ride it over and over. Set sail on a boat that holds 22 guests for a voyage through different nations. Along the way you’ll see audio-animatronic dolls, each dressed in their national costumes, in their native lands, all singing along to the famous “it’s a small world” song. Toddlers love the dolls in their brightly colored costumes and the repetitive tune which they’ll be singing for the rest of the day! It loads relatively quickly and wait times are usually manageable.

Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups
Unless you suffer from motion sickness this is a fun ride, and my daughter’s favorite on our last trip (she had us ride five times!) Sit in an over-sized teacup and turn the wheel in the center to make the cup spin. If you don’t want to spin fast just leave the wheel alone for a gentler ride. Disney music plays in the background, and as the ride only lasts for two minutes you won’t have an eternity to wait if your child decides they don’t like it once on.

Alice’s Curious Labyrinth
There’s lots here for little ones to explore and they’ll have fun running around and getting lost in the maze. The maze is wide enough to walk around comfortably and there are lots of stop-off points with things for kids to look at along the way. There are exits if you want to get out in a hurry, so you won’t be stuck in there for hours trying to find your way out! In the middle is the Queen of Hearts’ Castle, where you can climb to the top and get a great view of Fantasyland. No queues make this a good option for any time of day.
Peter Pan’s Flight
Fly off to Neverland on a pirate ship suspended from above. You’ll glide above scenes from the famous film, seeing Wendy & the boys, and Peter Pan fighting Captain Hook, who later has an encounter with a crocodile! The ride is quite dark, which may be a bit scary for any children who are afraid of the dark. This is one of the Fantasyland attractions which get very long lines, so either visit first thing in the morning or grab a Fastpass to minimize wait times.

Slinky Dog ZigZag Spin
One of the Walt Disney Studios’ newest rides. Based on Slinky from the Toy Story movies, and inspired by the old-style caterpillar rides, this is a nice tame ride which toddlers will enjoy. Being a new ride with a low ride capacity, expect long waits unless you visit early in the day.

Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast®
While they might not break any all-time high score records, kids will still enjoy holding the laser guns and shooting at the targets as they travel slowly along. Greeted by Buzz Lightyear as you enter, the aim is to shoot at targets scoring points as you do so, to defeat Zurg’s army. The ride vehicle seats two guests and can be spun round using the joystick. The ride is in semi-darkness, but the brightly colored scenes and lights should draw attention away from that. If the attraction is busy, Fastpass will be available, so get one and avoid the long lines.
