Want a different view of the Magic Kingdom and surrounding areas? Then consider trying parasailing over Bay Lake!
Sammy Duvall’s Watersports Centre at Disney’s Contemporary Resort offer either single or tandem parasailing. Regular flights go up to 450ft and currently cost $95 for single, and $170 for tandem (+ tax); lasting 8 – 10 minutes. If you want to go even higher, deluxe flights go to 600ft, last 10 – 12 minutes, and cost $130 single, and $195 (+ tax) tandem.
Having done both the single and tandem parasailing, I can highly recommend it.
You start off with a small group of people on a speedboat, which takes you out onto Bay Lake (next to Seven Seas Lagoon). After being securely strapped into a harness you stand on the rear of the boat and before you know it you’re airborne!
The line between you and the boat gets longer and longer, but is incredibly smooth and feels very safe.
As you’d expect, the views up there are amazing. Get a bird’s eye view over the Magic Kingdom.
You can even see Epcot, and the WDW Swan & Dolphin Resorts in the distance.
When it’s time to land, you needn’t worry about getting wet as you are brought back down to land on the boat, in the same spot you took off from.
Anyone who wishes to fly must be over 6 years old. Total weight in the parachute must be between 130 – 330lbs. If the flier is under the minimum requirement, he or she may accompany another child or adult to reach the minimum weight. Minors under the age of 18 must have an adult present to sign waivers prior to departing on your trip.
You can make advance reservations online through Sammy Duvall’s website.
