Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is located around the back of the Yacht and Beach Club Resort, right near to Stormalong Bay pool. It’s one of our favorites and somewhere we try to eat at on every trip.

Reservations aren’t taken, so it’s a case of first-come, first-served. Although we’ve never had a problem getting in, I’d recommend visiting outside of peak dining hours at busy times of the year.

On our last trip, we called by at around 6pm and were told we’d have a 20 minute wait for a table. Pager in hand, we sat on one of the tables opposite, overlooking Stormalong Bay. The pagers only operate within a certain distance of the restaurant, so can’t be taken back inside the Resort building. We actually only waited 10 minutes before our pager buzzed and we were seated.

The restaurant is themed after a 1950s-style ice cream parlor. Pictures of ice cream and other sweet treats adorn the walls above the mirrors, with wall light fittings in the shape of ice cream cones.

Seating is at tables in the center, booths on one side, or at the counter. Ceramic beach balls sit atop the sides of each booth.

Hits from the ’40s, ’50s and ’60s play out from an original reconditioned Wurlitzer, which sits next to the door.

Service we’ve experienced here on our numerous visits has always been good and fast, with the delicious food served up nice and hot.

It’s one of the few places left on property that still serves up my favorite pink lemonade. But my poor DH still hasn’t got over the fact that they no longer serve up his favorite “Lime Rickey!”

He ordered his usual burger, with added onions. Burgers here are reportedly some of the best at Disney, which DH can attest to.

Not being a fan of burgers, I stuck with my usual grilled chicken sandwich, which was as delicious as it looks. The chicken was done perfectly, not overcooked, and moist enough.

Trying to steer our four-year old away from fries, we ordered her the kid’s burger with grapes.

How cute is this Mickey Mouse Sundae?! Included with the kid’s meal, it’s chocolate ice cream, with Oreo cookie ears, a cherry nose and chocolate eyes. It’s available to buy separately, so adults can indulge too if they wish!

DH had the Old Fashioned Ice Cream Sundae, with two scoops (vanilla and coffee), and what looks to be hot fudge sauce.

I also had the sundae, but chose chocolate and vanilla ice creams, with marshmallow topping = ice cream heaven!

If you hear a bell ringing while you’re dining, it can only mean one thing – The Kitchen Sink! This is what most people know Beaches and Cream for. It’s a sundae served up literally in a kitchen sink shaped bowl, that consists of eight scoops of ice cream, plus all the toppings in the house and a whole can of whipped cream! Unless you’ve got an extremely hearty appetite, it’s best left to groups of four or more people. Don’t expect to get away with ordering it quietly! It’s brought out to a big fanfare of the bell ringing and a server announcing its arrival to the whole restaurant.

This was another enjoyable meal here, at a very reasonable cost for a sit-down restaurant, and we’ll definitely be back next time we visit.
