It’s now just over three years since Disney announced that they had purchased 21 oceanfront acres on the Hawaiian island of O’ahu, where they intended to build a new Resort hotel. As we reported last week, reservations for the new Resort, now named Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, Ko Olina, will open on August 2 this year.  Disney Vacation Club unit sales have already begun. The first guests are expected to check into the new hotel on August 29, 2011.
