It’s a Small World Nursery onboard the Disney Dream

In the It’s a Small World Nursery, infants and toddlers ages three months to three years enter a whimsical world inspired by the classic Disney theme park attraction and original artwork by Disney Legend Mary Blair. The theme’s signature fanciful style in a patchwork of pastel colors creates an inviting and comforting space for little ones.

Upon entering the nursery, parents and children can meet and interact with counselors in a welcoming environment. Parents wishing to check on their children, without disturbing them, can glimpse into the nursery’s main play area through a one-way window.

In the nursery’s main play area, children are welcomed by cheerful, three-dimensional façades resembling the nursery’s namesake Disney attraction. Interactive, hands-on features such as horns that honk, wheels that spin and buttons to press are sure to delight curious kids. A boat in the center of the room “floats” on a river pattern along the soft-surface floor and is surrounded by colorful, kid-sized tables and chairs for toddlers to enjoy crafts, books and games.

At the back of the nursery, a separate room with a serene motif and a calm, quiet atmosphere is reserved for naptime.

You can also make reservations during open house on embarkation day in the nursery, by dropping by the nursery during normal hours of operation, or by calling the nursery and leaving a message. You can also reserve more than your set amount of nursery time in this way, subject to availability.

It's recommended to book as soon as possible, as they do book up quickly. You can always cancel any unwanted reservations later.

When you first visit the nursey you'll be given a schedule of the reservations you have booked, along with an information sheet. You'll also be asked to set up a password which you'll need to use each time you sign your child out of the nursery.

The day before your reservation, you will get a call to your stateroom to confirm your reservation via voice mail.

You may cancel your reservation by contacting the nursery 4 hours prior to your reserved time. A cancellation fee of 50% of your scheduled time will be charged to your stateroom account if you do not cancel 4 hours prior to your scheduled session. Arrivals of more than 30 minutes late will constitute as a cancellation and the session will be given to the next person on the wait list.

If the nursery need to contact you whilst your child is in their care they will do so via the Wave phone that is in your Stateroom. So if you're not in your Stateroom during that time, please carry your Wave phone with you.

The nursery only provides solid food to children. If your child has special dietary requirements please inform a nursery counsellor prior to the meal time. For children who do not eat solid food, please provide your own baby food or formula. Saltine crackers, juice and water will be provided. Milk is not provided. Feel free to bring snack items for your child such as dry cereal or yogurt as long as they are not nut based nor contain traces of nuts.

For the safety of all children in the nursery, they are unable to accept a child who shows symptoms of fever, vomiting, diarrhea, unexplained skin rash, discharge from the nose or eyes, or has any other contagious disease or illness. In addition, should your child show any of these symptoms or illness once in care, you will be asked to pick up your child.

Nursery staff are not able to administer any medication.

Feel free to participate in shore excursions while your child is cared for in the nursery. But please note the nursery operating hours, as it may not be open long enough to cover all excursions.

Family time is offered at the nursery on embarkation day and also at other select times. This is when parents are able to enter the nursery with their child, and play. It's a good way of getting your child acquainted to the nursery before dropping them off.

As a family you are welcome to join the 3 to 4 year old programs in the Oceaneer Club during normal hours. The Oceaneer Club also offers toddler time on certain evenings, when toddlers can have the Oceaneer Club all to themselves.
