Hell
Send a postcard from this seaside village's post office and have a postmark to treasure. There are also novelty items "from Hell" and, on a more serious side, a jagged ironshore coastline that's perfect for photos. A guided tour of Hell is available as part of various shore excursions.
Boatswain's Beach / Cayman Turtle Farm
Pronounced ‘Bo-suns’ Beach, this one-of-a-kind, 23 acre adventure marine park promises to become one of the most exciting in the Caribbean. Boatswain’s Beach celebrates Caymanians’ stewardship of the seas and relationship with nature through tactile, colorful, educational and memorable experiences. The park allows visitors to experience the rich history of Caymanian life in a fun and safe environment while providing opportunities to observe and interact with native flora and fauna. The park offers visitors a unique opportunity to swim and snorkel with fish and other marine life in its 1.3 million gallon salt water lagoon. Guests can also peer into a predator tank and come nose-to-nose with sharks, eels, and other large fish. For those less adventurous, they can wander through the beautiful free-flight bird aviary, marvel at the dinosaur-like iguanas, or stroll down an historic Caymanian street complete with porch side artisans. Children and adults alike will delight in interacting with starfish, urchins and crabs at the touch pool. The only one of its kind in the world, the Cayman Turtle Farm is home to over 11,000 green sea turtles, ranging in size from six ounces to six hundred pounds. Turtles are available for guests to hold for an amazing and unique photo opportunity.
Stingray City
Enjoy this unique experience of touching and feeding a Stingray, together with snorkeling amongst magnificent coral reefs and colorful tropical fish. Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park
Discover a treasure trove of mahoganies, agave thickets, native palms and cacti in this awe-inspiring 65-acre woodland reserve, along with such animal species as the Cayman blue iguana, the West Indian whistling duck and the majestic Cayman parrot.
Pedro St. James Historic Site
Step into history at the birthplace of democracy in the Cayman Islands. Once known as Pedro Castle, this structure was built in 1780. The picturesque site burned to the ground in 1989, but has been faithfully restored and declared a national landmark.
Cayman Islands National Museum
Visit this marvelous museum, dedicated to preserving artifacts related to the history and culture of the Islands. Located in buildings dating back to the late 19th century, the museum showcases age-old methods of rope-making, fishing, and roof-thatching. The Museum's collection contains over 4,000 items ranging from tiny coins to a 14 foot catboat; natural history specimens to rare documents.
