Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Soaring up into the Fantasyland sky under the watchful gaze of Timothy mouse is Dumbo The Flying Elephant, a hub-and-spoke style attraction based upon the loveable Disney character with the oversize ears.

Each flying 'Dumbo' vehicle is controlled by the rider, making it especially popular among the younger generations who love being able to make Dumbo rise and fall however they wish.

Not only is Dumbo the Flying Elephant one of Disneyland's most popular attractions, it has also become an instantly recognizable Disney icon, synonymous with Disney parks worldwide.

Opened on October 17, 1955. It was remodeled and relocated in 1983.
When former President Harry Truman visited Disneyland® Park in 1957, Dumbo was one of the few attractions he didn't ride. Truman didn't want to be associated with a character related to the Republican party.
The attraction was originally intended to be based on the pink elephants from "Dumbo," but Walt objected, not wanting an attraction based on a hallucination.
Background music is provided by a 1915 band organ.
Timothy Mouse who stands on the central hub started off holding a whip, that was then changed to a feather, and then again back to a whip.
