NBA Pre-Draft Camp, May 29-June 1


LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The 2007 National Basketball Association's Pre-Draft Camp returns to Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., from May 29-June 1. The NBA Pre-Draft Camp annually invites top NBA Draft prospects to work out and be evaluated by league coaches, general managers, scouts and front office executives.

NBA Pre-Draft Camp drills, games, and strength and conditioning workouts will be conducted at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex, and the games will be televised live on ESPNU on May 30-31. This event will not be open to the public.

Last year marked the NBA Pre-Draft Camp's first year at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. Previously, the camp had been held at the Moody Bible Institute's Solheim Center in downtown Chicago. The NBA Draft takes place at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Thursday, June 28, and will be televised live on ESPN.




MLB First-Year Player Draft, June 7-8


LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Major League Baseball will hold its 2007 First-Year Player Draft at The Milk House at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex on Thursday, June 7. In its first year at Disney, the Draft will be carried live on ESPN2 from 2-6 p.m. (EDT), marking the first time that the Draft will be telecast. The two-day event will be open to the public.

ESPN2 will air each club's first-round choice. Clubs will have a maximum of five minutes to make their picks during the first round. Following the pick-by-pick coverage of the first round, live coverage will continue as the Draft is ongoing until 6 p.m. (EDT). After the completion of ESPN2's coverage, the first day of the Draft will proceed at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex until approximately 8:30 p.m. (EDT). On Friday, June 8, the Draft will resume at the complex at 11:30 a.m. (EDT) and then will continue until its conclusion.

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays will have the first selection of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft. The San Francisco Giants will have three selections in the first round, while the Toronto Blue Jays and the Texas Rangers will each have two first-round choices. The Draft will have 50 rounds and will conclude after all 30 teams have passed on a selection or after the final selection of the 50th round, whichever comes first.



AAU National Championships, June 12-Aug. 13


LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Beginning with the 34th Annual AAU Junior National Volleyball Championship in mid-June, the Amateur Athletic Union will bring hundreds of boys' and girls' youth teams from across the country to Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex for three months this summer. Athletes ages 9 to 17 will compete in 20 national championship events in volleyball, baseball, basketball and wrestling as part of the busy three-month AAU summer schedule.

The AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships (June 12-20) at The Milk House is expected to feature more than 300 girls' teams from across the country and Puerto Rico in seven age divisions (12:U through 18:U). The AAU Wrestling Scholastic Duals follows from June 18-22, featuring wrestlers of high school eligibility from both club and association teams.
General admission for all events is $11.25 for guests ages 10 and over and $8.50 for guests ages 3-9. Registration for Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 13K Now Open


LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Registration is now open for the first-ever Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 13K on Oct. 7, which will celebrate the 13th anniversary of Walt Disney World's famous terrifying attraction, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

The 8.1-mile road race begins at 9 p.m. on Oct. 27 at The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attraction at Disney-MGM Studios and winds through Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. The course then twists back through Disney-MGM Studios past "Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show," New York Street and Mickey's Sorcerer's Hat before returning to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror for an eerie finish. There will also be a 6.5K beginning at 9 p.m., which spans half of the 13K course.

Entry fees for this event include an exclusive race party at Disney-MGM Studios, which will last from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. and will feature a live band. The following attractions will be open during the party: The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and The Great Movie Ride.

Registration is open for the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 13K and 6.5K. The cost is $65 for the 13K and $40 for the 6.5K, and registration includes admission to the exclusive race party, as well as a glow-in-the-dark Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 13K T-shirt and commemorative medal. Additional race party tickets are available for friends and family for $25.
