Large signatures and images can increase page loading time, especially for those members that are on dial-up connections. It can also be annoying for members to have to scroll through large signatures before they can read the next post.
Therefore, please stick to the signature guidelines below :)
1. No more than 3 images per signature.
The following all count as images:
- photo
- animated gif or clipart (including 'sparkles')
- countdown timer
- externally linked image, smiley, egg, etc
If you wish to display more photos, please use our free photo gallery (http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/gallery), and link to the pictures from your signature.
2. Each image must not exceed the maximum allowed size of 200 pixels height x 400 pixels width.
3. The combined file size of all images must not exceed the total allowed of 50kb (51,200 bytes)
You can see the image size and file size by right-clicking on the image and selecting 'properties'.
4. Signatures should be no longer than 6 lines.
The following count as lines:
- an image (as noted above)
- a blank line
- line of text
5. Links to other sites must follow our Posting Guidelines (http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28).
6. You can edit your signature in your UserCP (http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/forums/usercp.php). If you're using the WYSIWYG editor, you can use the controls to change text, add images, etc. If you want to manually code your signature, please see the VB Code page (http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode).
Members whose signatures do not fit the guidelines above will be contacted and asked to edit their signatures. Failure to do so may result in the signature being deleted by Admin.
COUNTDOWN TIMERS
Members are welcome to place countdown timers in their signatures, providing they stay within the requirements above.
