Hong Kong, May 7, 2008 – Hong Kong Disneyland’s Hollywood Hotel will represent Hong Kong to vie for top culinary glory at The 4th MLA Global Final Grand Black Box Culinary Challenge in Dubai on 14 May.
Recognized widely as the pinnacle of culinary contest, the Black Box Culinary Competition draws on top-notch cooking teams from around the world. Under the leadership of award-winning Team General Manager Mak Kam Kui, (Chef De Cuisine, Hollywood Hotel - Food & Beverage), Disney’s Hollywood Hotel will be pit against 18 other teams, including those from the US, Mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Their culinary creativity, presentation and cleanliness will be put to the test at the Grand Final day when the teams are presented with a “black box” containing surprise ingredients. All testing teams have won preliminary rounds in their respective countries.
The Disney’s Hollywood Hotel team includes Team Manager Stephen Yeung Yat Hung, (Sous Chef), Team Member Danny Leung Chi Hang (Specialty Chef), Vanessa Im (Cook 2) and Wong Ka Yi (Cook 2). The team has won the Black Box Culinary Competition - Hong Kong round in 2006, outperforming 10 other outstanding chef teams in renowned food establishments.
