Payson Cha and Philip Chen Re-appointed as Independent Non-executive Directors of Hongkong International Theme Parks Limited
(1 August 2008 – Hong Kong) Hongkong International Theme Parks Limited (HKITP) today (1 August) announced the re-appointment of Mr. Payson Cha and Mr. Philip Chen by its shareholders (i.e. on behalf of The Walt Disney Company and the Government) to its Board of Directors as independent non-executive directors for a term of two years from 1 August 2008 to 31 July 2010. Both Mr. Cha and Mr. Chen were first appointed in August 2006.
Mr. Payson Cha is the Chairman of HKR International Limited. He chaired the Board of the Ocean Park Corporation from 1997 to 2000.
Mr. Philip Chen is currently Deputy Chairman of Cathay Pacific Airways and Chairman of John Swire & Sons (China) Ltd. He was Chairman of the Board of the Ocean Park Corporation between 2000 and 2003. HKITP is a joint venture established by the Government and The Walt Disney Company in 1999 for the development and operation of Hong Kong Disneyland. There are 11 Directors on the Board of Directors of HKITP including the two Non-executive Directors. The full membership list is at Annex.
