Someone mentioned Clearwater earlier and it got me thinking about Beaches that are commutable from WDW. Cocoa Beach is mentioned quite regularly but was wondering what people's experiences of it were. Is it worth taking a day out to visit? Is there much to do there? I know Ron Jon's surf shop is out that way but not much else.

We always have a drive to Cocoa beach. We love it, it is clean and there are plenty of places to eat as well.

We take a trip to cocoa almost every holiday. Lovely beach, easy parking. We tend to stop in Cocoa - the town too, which has some quaint shops.

Cocoa beach is a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the parks day in day out, we haven't been on our last couple of trips but are planning a day there on our next trip, Ron Jon's was quite expensive from what I remembered but worth a look around, I always use RJ as landmark as we always park to the rear where the parking lot was free for the day (it may well not be now though)
There are plenty of beach front bars and cafes but we ususally take a cooller with us loaded with drinks and food.
