      Happy St Patricks Day

Yes I am Irish ! My great times 4 grandmother was Catherine Coyle on my fathers side . On my mothers side German & British . Mom's dad was born in England . Oma was born in Germany . Anyhoo , I don't care for corned beef, love cabbage but not suppose to have it due to my colitis . So, today for the first time ever I'm making Irish Sheperds Pie . Wishing you all luck and best wishes this St Patricks Day ! Wear your green proudly .

Both my Grandmas were Irish so when I was young we always used to celebrate. I can remember going to school wearing shamrock which was sent over from Ireland a few days before.

I'll toast St Patrick with a few drinks tonight!

My mother's maiden name was O'Neill. You can't get more Irish than that.

I have a wee bit of Irish in me...just enough to love Corned Beef and Cabbage. Had that last night and I am using the leftover mashed potatos for shepards pie tonight :) Hope you all had a great day.

WoW, I guess USCWest ! I used ground round in the Sheperds Pie rather than mutton . It turned out great . I really took my time and followed the recipe step by step . Even browned the top of the potatoes under the broiler and didn't burn them . I made green chunky apple sauce to go with it . It must have been good its almost gone using a 13 x 9 x 2 casserole dish and it was heavy . Afterwards, made some Irish coffe with Bailey's . I'm so full .

      Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I am about 25% Irish. All of my Irish ancestors came to America before 1800, mostly in the early 1700's. One of my Irish ancestors was the same Milhouse immigrant ancestor as Richard Nixon (yes, that Richard Nixon). He is my 5th cousin, twice removed. I've had my Guinness Draught, made a toast to my Irish ancestors, and now I'm watching a marathon of The Green Hornet, one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. Also, I wore my Chip & Dale pin where they are wearing green and dancing around on a four leaf clover.

I've seen Chip and Dale do that dance in a show at Disneyland Paris - it was hilarious!
