We have just got back from a last minute trip to the Hilton Bonnet Creek It's not offsite but not a Disney hotel (so I think this is the right place to post?) but is down a road between Caribbean Beach and Downtown Disney. For the same price as a week in a Disney Value resort (which were full by the time we booked) we had a great week here. It's a peaceful resort linked to the Waldolf Astoria and its golf course - great pool/lazy river, great breakfast buffet (included in the Virgin price) plus free parking. The large breakfast choice cut down on our lunch costs greatly. There are coaches to the parks although they service multiple parks and it took quite a while to get to Epcot for example. So we (well Alan) drove everywhere which we NEVER do when staying at our usual Boardwalk, but it worked well. Highly recommended!

One to note for the future and good to get some first hand views on the place (thanks). I looked at this for our trip this year but as we are only in Orlando for three days and only spending one evening with the mouse (MNSSHP) it wasn't worth the extra compared to the price we could get at the Wyndham LBV Resort across the road from DTD.

We looked at those too, but the trip advisor reports weren't so good. One/some had changed hands recently? Who knows if we were right, but were certainly pleased with our choice. Wish we were still there - after a 13 hour day at work to catch up from our week away!!!

No it's not at dtd although not far away - down road just beyond the Caribbean beach on way to DTD. Don't think extra magic hours applied but don't use them anyway. Think there might(?) be another hilton near dtd???

The DTD Hilton is directly opposite DTD on Hotel Plaza Boulevard. You can walk to DTD and use the buses, but they don't go to parks from DTD so people don't block the parking lots to avoid paying parking. You would have to bus to a resort then switch to a park bus. When we stayed on HPB, the hotels there had their own buses anyway.
