I hope this works out ok because I have never done a food trippie before.

We initially did have lots of TS places booked, but had to cancel them all due to reduced budget.

So here goes - 16 nights of quick service meals and a couple of room service ones

I will say however we were extremely disappointed with the quality of food and the variety. It seemed like we were just eating the same rubbish over and over. Most places the food was barely warm. There was serious lack of variety for the kids meals and I did notice that even with the TS places the kdis were getting the same rubbish that they would get at any of the QS establishments.

We weren't happy and each meal was costing a lot of money when the amount/qaulity was very poor.

In the end we tried to eat at the timeshare as much as possible, and even resorted to taking sandwiches with us, but this wasn't always possible.

    British airways snack
    Virgin Atlantic Meals to Florida
    Polynesian - capt. cooks
    Polynesian room service breakfast

    Polynesian - Captain cooks
    Polynesian room service - breakfast
    Tambu Lounge
    Boulangerie Patisserie France Epcot
    Electric umbrella
Breakfast in room at polynesian - the cheaper alternative
    Cookes of dublin

Snack on British airways flight from Edinburgh to London Gatwick

really hate flying with BA - they staff are awful and the service is rubbish

we had a quick snack onboard and a drink

bag of nuts and raisons or a cookie (which looked yuk!)
I had a lemonade and kids had orange juice (Gary and I don't drink alcohol so you wont see any of that in this Food TR lol)

    Virgin Atlantic Meals to Florida

We had stayed overnight at the gatwick hilton and had a meal there. The food here was great, but a tad to expensive for us. Despite that the staff were brill and everyone ate.

I wasn't really looking forward to eating on the plane as I had heard the food had deteriorated a lot
I remember going PE in the 90's and thought the food was brill.

    Here is what we got:

Kids were fed first. First problem was they forgot Louie's meal. Yes he is an infant, but i paid extra for a seat for him so would expect a meal. We finally got it, but then they bypassed my meal as I had Louie's tray on my fold down tray thing.

    Kids meal

Dinosaur shaped pasta in bolognaise sauce
    Bag of raisons and sultanas
    bag of haribo mix sweets
    orange juice
peter rabbit peach and apricot smoothie

All the kids (except Louie) hated it. Rebecca ate nothing at all.

Adult meal was just as bad

Choice of sheperds pie or veggie chilli
    prawn salad
    roll with butter
    water
    chocolate pudding with raspberry compote

for some reason we forgot to take a picture of this. I eventually got mine after asking for a 4th time. It was awful anyway so I am glad I ate the kids meals lol

Half way through the flight we got a choc ice.

    Afternoon tea
Kids - jam sandwich and soft cheese sandwich
    raisons and saltananas (again
    mini chedders

again they forgot Louie's and they never came back with his chedders. None of the kdis ate this

Adults - coronation chicken or a cheese and pickle sandwich
with a chocolate and raison cookie

    Polynesian - Captain Cooks

We ate here on our first full day at Disney - we were all startving as we hadn't really eaten for ages (I took cereal with us in the case so we just had this before bed and for breakfast)

    This is what we had

2 x adult cheeseburger and fries
Kids - 4 x cheeseburgers meals with grapes and cookies
extra sides of fries as I didn't realise you could swap the grapes or cookies for fries lol
    2 x regular soft drinks
4 x apple juice cartons for the kids (included with kids meal)

total was almost $50 - we weren't too impressed with this as it was a tad cold when we got it. The service however was fab and they were all lovely here

One small complaint was the air conditioning was quite chilly whilst sitting inside. My mum and dad arrived and moved us to the outside tables, but we had to quickly abandone this due to the very very aggressive ducks and birds. One duck actually jumped up onto Louie to steal a chip. another small black bird looking thing stole charlotte's whole cookie. Rebecca was freaking out so we had to go back in.

I apologise for not taking a picture - we were so hungry we forgot lol

Same thing happened to me last trip. They forgot to bring my meal (they were pretty slow to find us as it was) due to having Sophies in front of me at the time. I did eventually call someone but chose to eat her cheesy bolognese than the two adult options, neither of which appealed. It wasn't too bad for plane food
I like Captain Cooks, one of the better QS venues you'll find. :)

The reason those birds and ducks are so aggressive is the idiot people who ignore the signs and feed them. They have gotten to the point now that the expect food.

I couldn't have said it better. This drives me crazy. Feed the fish, ok, feed the birds, smack right upside the head.

    polynesian Room service - Breakfast

We decided to treat ourselves to room service for breakfast on our last morning at the poly. Booked it for 7am. Think I was so excited I couldn't sleep lol got up at 5.30am.

We decided to try and cut costs by just ordering for the kids - so glad we did cause none of the kids ate.

We got 3 x kids pancakes with sausage
1 x kids french toast with sausage
1 x side of brown toast
    1 x decaf coffee

    total was $47.95

None of us were too impressed with this! The food again was not hot enough and you dont get much for your money. Maybe it's because I have very strict budgets at home and I don't waste any pennies that I find it hard to part with cash lol
Even so - at least we can say we tried it and ot was convenient. We didn't tip as you have an 18% service charge as well as a $3 tray charge.

Earl of Sandwich - downtown disney

When we checked out of the poly we hopped on a bus and met my mum and dad at DTD.
We decided on earl of sandwich for lunch. It was mobbed in here, but the queue disappeared quickly and they seemed to have a pretty good system going for taking orders then paying etc.

Gary and I shared the hawaiin sandwich and a ceasar salad
    Rachel had kids grilled cheese
Rebecca, charlotte and louie shared a grilled cheese one and the kids turkey and swiss sandwich
I also got a fruit cup, grape cup, 3 x soft drinks, a muffin, a cupcake and a strawberry parfait

cost about $50, but it was all yummy. We didn't eat it all so took the extra bits home with us ( fruit and cakes)
It was horrendous rain and winds on this day - rained constantly for 24 hours, so DTD was jam packed with folk

Earl of Sandwich. YUMMY. It is one of my most favorite places to eat QS on property. I think I ate there every other week during my CP, and always the same thing - Caprese

Looking very forward to reading your food report! I agree that your Poly breakfast did look to be lacking. I did see a few 'hidden' Mikey's involved with those pancakes though .

    Great food report :more:

Poly room service does look poor for the price they charge.

I'm looking forward to the rest of your report although it sounds like it won't be a glowing review. I agree that sometimes the QS options are very 'samey' - especially the kids meals. Carlene has said that she will do something similar for her trip and I commented there that hopefully she will be able to find some places which are a bit different and not just burger / chicken tenders and fries. The Earl of Sandwich is the best value food in WDW to my mind and I also hope you liked Cookes of Dublin (don't spoil the report yet though!).
