As of March 7th, CM's have been instructed to enforce the return time window for anyone using the FastPass system. No longer will you be able to pick up a FP earlier in the day and return outside the window at a time of your choosing. You will be restricted to the hour noted on the pass.

CM's will allow passes 5 mins earlier than the allotted time and up to 15mins after however to account for early/late-comers. If you return outwith these periods expect to be disappointed.

One of the reasons they always gave for allowing the any time return after the allotted time was in case the ride/attraction was closed for some reason during your allotted time. I wonder how they are now going to handle this.

That is a good point. I bet they will make acceptions if the ride is closed, otherwise there is going to be a lot of upset people.

I think it’s something we’ve stuck to about 90% of the time anyway, so it’s not going to be too much of a hardship. There’s been occasions when we’ve changed plans or had an ADR (Advance Dining Reservations) cut into the time we’ve been given and used the FP’s later in the day. I guess if there was to be a conflict now we’d need to re-think the strategy somehow.

It's about time. I suspect that if a ride breaks down you'll get a come back anytime FP, just like you do now.

I wonder if this is just WDW or if DLR is doing this as well.

It's already a rule at DLP, so it might go to DLR also

I believe this is just a WDW change, but expect it'll also come into effect at DL soon enough if there's no major issues.

Can't say I'm surprised, and I think it's a good thing.....but we did go outside the window on quite a few occasions

Not for anything...but why bother putting the return time on the FP at all if your not going to enforce it
I don't really think we ever go outside the window on the pass, but I have seen a few people who don't seem to pay attention to the return time.

I don't see it as a problem cos we never go over - the ticket tells us the time so we meet it, and have had it where we've turned up slightly early and been made to stand there til the exact minute the clock clicks to our "window", so yeah why not enforce the end of the window just as much as the beginning of the window.

Thanks for that. We always stick to our window. But there have been occasions where the FP lines seem really long. Maybe this will help.

They should have been doing this from the beginning......Now, I'm sure there will be some irate people. I don't think I would like to be the fastpass ticket collector when they start to enforce this.

I'm sure that I've had a FP for a ride that had broke down during my hour and they let anyone who had FP during the time the ride was down to come back later. I've always thought that you had to be at the ride during the hour so I'm going to see no difference for me.

I never knew that you could return after the window. I've always thought that if you missed your slot then the fast pass was dead.

    Shows how much I know!
