Alec, do the 8" customs start at £32 and then go up according to flavour, etc.? or is the price just depending on decoration?

I just want a chocolate sponge with peanut butter cup mousse, similar to our wedding for DH's birthday (if we go) at CG. I'd like it Donald themed but I'm not fussed if it's going to be $$$

The flavour doesn't affect the price AFAIK Hayley, it's all down to the decoration. The cheapest cake from those above was the Jack Sparrow at $75 but that was 4 1/2 years ago now. The chocolate characters automatically add $30 to any cake so a screen print would be cheaper for the Donald theme instead of the character in chocolate. The Donald cake above was $125 from Citrico's and the Tinker Bell was the same but was from CG.

I'll add Lois' latest ( and I think best cake yet ) to the list above as well.

Thanks Alec! When I get my dates sorted, I'll try and give them a call see what they say.

The remainder of our cake got left behind at CG at our wedding and DH was gutted it went missing

I had a cake ordered for my DH's birthday on our last trip. It was done by the Boardwalk Bakery and delivered to the Flying Fish. It was a marble cake with strawberries and bananas in the middle with chocolate ganache on the outside. It was by far the best cake any of us have ever had!

Anyone have a list of updated places where I can order a birthday cake for?

It's DF's Birthday a few days after we return, so I thought I might suprise her with a cake, but I would need to plan ADR's to make sure I have a suitable restaurant booked towards the end of the stay.

What kind of cake are you thinking? The best bakery IMO is the GF. Cali Grill have done us a few fab ones too but it may not be open in time.

Thanks for the quick replies. I was thinking of getting the Cinderella's slipper or the castle cake, and we would be in either Citricos or Narcoossee's for dinner. The other cakes would be too big for just the two of us!

Chocolate figures are also available at the GF, I ordered this for Paula when we had dinner at Citrico's.

When you are ready to order or if you want to discuss any options available at the GF, call private dining and ask to speak to Pat Anderson. She is responsible for all the special cake/dessert orders.

Chip and Dale cake from July'12

The briefing was 'Chip 'n' Dale on a red and white picnic blanket eating chocolate strawberries. Marble cake with white choc filling.' ....... we think he pulled it off magnificently!! It lasted about 4 days for snacks and breakfast.
