We went to the shuttle launch on 16th May with Florida Dolphin Tours.

The experience was exhilarating, and the launch breathtaking.

FDT were excellent at keeping us entertained, making a 12 hour experience seembearable when the big event happens in under 1 minute :hehe:
Attached are a couple of my shots

I'm so envious, it's something I'd love to see. I did watch it live on Nasa TV, but, there is no comparison. Wonderful photos, thanks for sharing them

Yeah, I watched it on NASA TV from here at work. Would have loved to have been there.

    Superb pictures! :)
I was fortunate enough to see a launch back in '92 but we we're a good bit further away than you seem to be. Its an amazing sight for sure.

Here are a few more pictures from before the main event
We arrived at KSC early and were allowed to go around the park, I found it a lot more interesting with my camera with (a) smaller crowds and (b) night sky backgrounds

I was planning to go back for it as I enjoyed the last one so much, but we have a Norwegian cruise in July ... blooming work making it impossible to take a whole month off work

I saw a Launch way back in 1997,but the memory stays with me, I had wanted to see a Launch since I was a little boy, but that was when it was Apollo Rockets.
We saw the Launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Base, so we were quite a Distance away, the thing that sticks with me was the sound, I could feel the ground trembling under my feet. Sorry about the Grainy Picture but, it was a screenshot from a Video I took :D
