Friday 26th August
We decided to get up early and head over to Epcot this morning. This is by far my favourite park and since we were going home in a few days, wanted to give it one last good day.
As we got in we noticed Stitch all on his own. Ben has no idea who Stitch is as he’s never seen the film, but he thought he looked lonely so went over for a cuddle
The two of them had a little play, and then Daisy came over to join us, a rather odd combination I thought but Ben didn’t seem to mind, so went for a cuddle with her too.
I popped over to get a Soarin FP, which was followed by breakfast at Seasons, which I always find to be completely delicious whatever time of day it is
After breakfast we went onto Living with the Land and I took about a million photos for a school project we have coming up. I really miss the proper narration on here.
We did a rider switch on Soarin with Ben, so we could keep our FP for later Then it was right over to do single rider for me at Test Track. It wasn’t too busy at all this morning and the CM was trying really hard to only let real single riders down the line rather than huge groups.
The boys then did Test Track while I went off to the babycare centre, taking some photos on the way.
You have no idea how long it took me to get that one! You would think there are monorails coming by all the time…..apart from when you want ‘that’ photo
Anyway, after feeding Ava we let the children have a little play in the playroom at the babycare centre, which is always a hit with them both
We took a leisurely stroll around to Canada where we both had a cheeky Labbatts as we walked through to France. We went to watch Impressions du France, which is where I think this picture was taken….
I just love the music in this show, and Ava was fascinated by how large the screen was, she absolutely loved it
We were lucky enough to bump into Belle on the way out
I have to admit, the ‘face’ characters freak me out a little bit, but Belle was wonderful. She spent ages talking to Ben, asking what sorts of books he liked, and said that she thought he’d enjoy the Beasts library. She played with Ava for a while too. I was really impressed with her, she really took the time to interact, it wasn’t just a pose for pictures interaction.
As we were walking back, a huge set of doors opened that I’d never even noticed was there! Out came the penguins from Mary Poppins, came over to Ben, held his hands, and led him off!
Behind the doors was a massive area (maybe SportsMickey knows bit more about this….) and it was filled with characters I’d never seen out and about before!
This one spent ages playing with Ava, not sure who enjoyed it the most
These guys we knew very well though, a real favourite of Ben
There were loads of CMs hanging around taking notes. When we first went in there was only a handful of people there but by the time we left there was loads. It seemed as though the CMs were taking notes on whether people stopped by and how popular the characters were. It was a real treat actually, all of the characters spent ages playing with the children and messing around with them. It was really good fun
We stopped off again in Canada to watch the show, which I love
Ben also wanted to go in the shop and see if he could find all of the cuddly toys, which he did, and was very proud of it too!
He loves his ‘junior ranger’ certificate
We went back to Seasons for lunch
Ben had kids chicken and rice (sorry I only remembered half way through!)
I think this was Asian chicken noodle salad – delicious!
Anthony had chicken, rice and beans, which doesn’t look particularly good, but was
I like how they let you go back for dessert here, there was no way I could have fit those on my tray as well
The key lime pie they do there is one of the best counter service ones I think
After lunch the boys went on Soarin while I took Ava for a walk to get her to have a little nap. I also went on a bit of a 2012 calendar hunt. I was sure I’d seen them somewhere, but stupidly hadn’t bought them, so went looking all over the place. I asked a CM who showed me to where all the 2011 things were…..erm no, it was a 2012 calendar I was looking for Couldn’t find one so decided to give up. By this time the boys had come off the ride and Ava was awake again, so we all went on Spacehip Earth before heading back to the hotel.
We had a quick swim and then got ready for dinner at the turf club. We were really looking forward to this as we’d hear it was really good. We arrived within plenty of time, and Ava was napping so we asked if we could bring the buggy in with us, which wasn’t a problem.
I seem to remember earlier in the trippie that there was a time when Anthony got really annoyed, this was it. Anthony never gets annoyed really but he did here. The food was absolutely awful! He had lamb chops and they cooked it way too rare for him, and the things that went with it was just revolting. My chicken was ok, but just ok really. Our server was awful. She paid no attention to us whatsoever, she didn’t check back to see if we were enjoying our meal, she didn’t bring over refills and was just generally quite rude and unhelpful. Our plates were left for ages without being cleared and when they were she asked what we wanted for dessert, so we asked if she could bring the menu over. Several requests later it still hadn’t arrived and we’d had about enough by this time to walked over to the podium and I asked for the bill. It took ages for them to sort that out and when they did they noticed we hadn’t had dessert, when we explained why, they just said ‘ok’. Now, I would have expected them to apologise or ask if we wanted something to take away, but there was none of that. Really not amused at all, this is one place we certainly won’t be returning to!
We’d discussed with Ben a few days before what Extra Magic Hour was, and would he like to do it one night? He decided that now he was such a big boy he’d be able to stay up late enough to go out with daddy, so off they went to MK. I walked over to DTD with the wine glasses to return….again I also went to the Christmas shop to get some personalised baubles done for the children. Never done this before but these were the only Christmas things we were buying this year so thought I’d get them personalised. I was going to have a little wander around, but wasn’t really in the mood so headed back to the hotel to heave an early night with Ava
According to Ben the next morning, him and daddy had a brilliant time
Next time, Anthony nearly gets very annoyed again
