Sunday March 4th. Taking the advice of my fellow plane passenger I buy the Sentinel, OMG, she was right, so many coupons, so little time to clip them out and go shopping. I head over for my usual Walmart visit and come away with Lady and Tramp on Blu Ray with a free bowl and fork and spoon set (yes, it's for the little ones, but, who cares) and then onto SuperTarget, how have I never been there before, end up with a stackload of BluRays and DVD's to bring home. Coffee and cake at Starbucks before heading over to Joanns with my stash of coupons and the intent to use them. After the disappointment of Michaels this is much better. A nice sized Cross Stitch department and best of all tons of kits reduced to half price, even the usual price is much less compared to UK prices, I'm in heaven. Having reduced the cross stitch department stock levels significantly I head over to the papercrafting, I am never buying from QVC or Hobbycraft again. Loaded up I go to the till, she rings everything up, $124, which is amazing considering how much I bought, I'm already a happy bunny, then I hand over the coupons, we agree that we'll just swipe them to see what happens and I watch as the total goes down and down and down. Just over $80, result! Head back to my room at FQ tired, but, happy. After a rest I head over to MK, it is very busy now, so head off for to Epcot, still busy wander down to Boardwalk, chill out then get the boat to Disney Hollywood Studios theme park at WDW, a couple of hours there and get on TT and SW, look at TSM, still megabusy, decide to give it a miss on this trip.
Monday to Thursday was spent going around the parks. Really getting into the Sorcerer's game, but, sometimes need to queue, gobsmacked how seriously some people take it, but, it is fun and mildly addictive. The parks are definitely busier this week and although sunny it is very very windy and there is excitement of sorts when the covers hiding work on Main Street Bakery start coming away right in the middle of the day and Main Street is closed, they funnel people through the Emporium or behind Main Street on the other side (a chance for people to see behind the scenes) many of us watch as a large cherry picker is brought in for them to sort it out. I also head out to WWoS just to see where my seat is, it's fabulous but right in the sun so must make sure I don't forget my sunscreen. Thursday evening I head over to the Polynesian to watch the fireworks from the beach. Have tea at Capt Cooks, Pork Nacho's.It's enough for a family of four, but, very yummy. Get a coffee and head down to the beach. Lots of people including some guy on his laptop, takes all sorts. To my amazement the music is piped to the beach, hadn't expected that, even more amazing was laptop guy deciding to call someone (via Skype) and yack all the way through the fireworks, showing odd much? 'Look at me,calling you from WDW while the fireworks are going' Beats talking loudly on a train to someone on your mobile. Anyway, what a fab experience, definitely do that again next trip, might do Grand Floridian Resort and Spa at Walt Disney World next time. Think about going into MK when I'm on the monorail, see the crowds going IN at 9pm, no chance.
Friday March 9th. It's the day of the Mets game. I'm glad that I reccied the bus ride over. Make the wrong choice and decide to take the bus from Caribbean Beach Resort at Walt Disney World as that was the first bus from Epcot to arrive. Get off at Port Royale only to find the bus goes from the Customs House (my bad) walk across to see the WWoS bus departing grrrr. I'm not the only one who just missed it. The next one is in half an hour, so sit chatting to others, everyone is of the same opinion, why change the location of where you pick it up from? We get the bus, it's midday and the game starts in an hour. Just as we arrive the heavens opens and I can safely say I have never experience rain like it. Literally 10 seconds after getting off the bus we are soaked even in the short run to the umbrellas, I put my Morrisons disposable raincoat on, it's useless. I can see blue sky heading towards us, but, we're going nowhere until the rain stops, which thankfully it does. I head into the ballpark and I'm so excited! My first live ballgame. I have toyed with the idea of going for the all you care to eat buffet, but glad I didn't when I saw how far it was from where I was sitting, so I have a hotdog and fries for lunch and sit in my seat to take in the atmosphere. I'm surprised when the game starts that so many seats are empty considering when I bought my ticket the Ticketmaster site said it was nearly sold out. The weather held and it was really hot, the game was amazing although all the best photos I took were of Braves players, but the Mets won (hooray!!) I'm glad I didn't go for the buffet as all I had apart from the hotdog was a bag of Crackerjacks that I didn't finish. It starts to rain as we leave, perfect timing and I get off at PC and then get the bus for MK. It is heaving! I get in a few rides and then to the bakery for a cinnamon bun and hot chocolate. I'm wearing my Mets shirt and a CM with a sunburnt face asks me if I was at the game, she was too ( how did she get back so quick) she is a Braves fan and she wished she'd remembered her sunscreen, she is amazed by my accent as she wasn't expecting a British one, like the Braves fans who sat just down from me, I guess people don't expect a middle aged British woman to be a baseball nut at Spring training.
it's now quite late and chilly so I head back to the room. I decide to think about starting to pack to see how much room I have for more shopping, then bed.
Saturday March 10th. After breakfast I decide it'll be busy as there are a ton of school parties visiting WDW this week, so I decide to listen to the Wales-Italy 6 Nations game. Find Radio Wales and listen to Rhod Gilbert before the game starts, nearly email him to let him know that one Welsh fan is forgoing a morning at WDW to listen to him and the Welsh game, but, chicken out. We win the rugby (CYMRU AM BYTH, one more for the Grand Slam and we know what happened there!:D) I get it into my head to go back to Walmart and Joanns. So pick up the bus, perfect timing there and back, not waiting more than a couple of minutes for a bus. Take the boat from TTC, it is chocka at 3pm with lots of school parties, don't think I'll go there when I drop my shopping off. Ended up at AK, very busy too. Have a couple of photopass photos taken as you head across the bridge, felt the photographer's heart wasn't in it, sadly when I checked them when I got home I was right, but, the rest I had taken that day are fab! Especially the one of me holding Simba (cute!) Did Everest and got into the front seat for the first time, now I see why people want to do it! Definitely the best seat in the house, very lucky to get that considering I was in the single rider line. Head over to MK via Polynesian bus, it's still busy so I head down to DTD via Saratoga springs bus. Bit of shopping, Earl of Sandwich (French Dip) and home.
Sunday March 11th. Last full day and it is gloomy. Definitley going to rain, but, that may mean less people. It has been very, very busy with all the Spring Breakers and families. I am right, it is definitely the quietest I've seen for a week. The the rain starts, it is in for the day, so I invest in a poncho. Decide i'm wet enough so do Splash Mountain, what fun! Pick up my cards, but, it is so wet I decide not to do the game today. So it's get as many rides as I can in. Middle of the afternoon it's over to Epcot, I always make an effort to see Off Kilter, something I haven't done this trip, and didn't do as their show was cancelled due to the weather (wimps) So head down to the Boardwalk to buy a Tshirt I liked in the shop and over to Disney Hollywood Studios theme park at WDW. Do all the rides (except TSM) a couple of times, TT is awesome as always. Long day, head home as I have an early start.
Monday March 12th. Head down to DTD,easy check in and find we are travelling back on the Airbus. Get the Lynx straight over to TTC, definitely easier and quicker than going via DisneyBus transportation. Initially planning to have breakfast at MSB, but as the monorail stops at PolyI decide to have Tonga Toast at Capt Cook, very nice too, bt, very filling. I head onto my last morning at MK :(. Lovely day, sunny and warm and get lots of last minute photos. I wonder if it's worth going back to the hotel to pick the Magical Express and decide to take the 111 Lynx instead, glad I did as it meant more time in MK. Probably do that agin next time. Wouldn't do it with suitcases though as some other passengers did. Plenty of time at the airport to last minute shop for magazines and choccies for the plane and get on the airbus. It is a very quiet flight, only 204 passengers, no one in the seat next to me. Have to say, best flight ever, love the IFE, although the crew weren't as great as on the outbound flight. Used the biometric lane to go through immigration (only me and another guy did it, everyone else seemed to head to the old one) all very straightforward. Now only a 6 hour drive home. Did the day room again, but, left by 3pm, so not good value for money, seriously considering the Yotel for the November trip.
All in all, a great trip, but, it had an odd feel about it, I don't think I truly managed to fully de-stress from problems at home, but, still had a fab time. I'm not sure if I's like to go at this time again. I enjoyed the F&G Festival, but, not how busy everything was, so go back when the Festival is one, but when it'll be quieter in the park. The baseball game was terrific, so next one will be at Citifield for me. The Mardi Gras parade was as wonderful and fun as usual, but, I'm a little bored with Universal, so i'm not sure if I'll bother next trip. Learnt the joy of couponing and won't be shopping until the Sunday to take advantage, definitely returning to Joanns and SuperTarget. So roll on November!!!

Ok I am offically worn out just reading your report. We had the same teaming rain one day when we went last August. It came out of no-where lasted not even 15 mins but we were ankle deep in water in Tommorowland. Glad you had a good trip, I bet the cast member was able to take a different entrance back into the park then you could (thats how she got there before you).Disney Dad
