Wedding Vows 1
I [groom] take you [bride]
to be my wedded wife,
to have and to hold, from this day forward,
for better, for worse,
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and
in health,
to love and to cherish, till death us do part,
as
long as we both shall live,
this is my promise to you.
I [bride] choose you [groom] to
be my wife/husband.
To live with you and laugh with you.
To stand by your side and to
sleep in your arms.
To always listen to you, to labor with you,
and to encourage you.
To bring out the best in you always.
And, for you, to be the most
that I can.
[groom] This woman, whom
you hold by the hand, is to be your wife. She has given you one of
the most sacred things under heaven: a woman’s life and a woman’s
love. She will look to you for support, loyalty, and understanding.
Do
you vow here, as you have promised [bride]
That you will be true
and loyal,
Patient in sickness,
Comforting in sorrow,
And forsaking all other, keep yourself only unto
her,
So long as you both shall live?
I DO
