Disneyland Fairy Tale Weddings - An Introduction

Brides and grooms-to-be will find a unique, romantic venue in the Disneyland Resort in Southern California, where every bride feels like a princess in her very own dream come true.

The imagination and fantasy that lingers throughout the Disneyland Resort sets the tone for a romantic and enchanting wedding. A Disney Fairy Tale Wedding can be an intimate, candlelit affair or an elaborate grand celebration. The Disneyland Resort offers an array of beautifully manicured grounds, breathtaking waterfalls, picturesque gazebos and elegantly appointed ballrooms, providing couples with a myriad of unforgettable surroundings in which to spend their special day.

Grand affairs of up to 500 guests can be easily accommodated at the Disneyland Resort’s hotels. Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding specialists, located on-site, meticulously orchestrate every element of a storybook wedding, reflecting the personal style of each bride and groom. Drawing upon Disney’s vast selection of set pieces, props, and entertainment, Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding specialists are able to offer one-of-a-kind magical touches. The happy couple can choose to add a white dove release, fanfare trumpeters, magnificent floral arrangements by award-winning designers, commemorative Disney favors, or the whimsy of beloved Disney Characters mingling at the reception or even participating in the cake cutting. The full-service amenities of the Resort include Disneyland park and Disney’s California Adventure park, and three hotels – The Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, which will debut a new Mandara Spa in February 2006. The Resort also offers guests the Downtown Disney District, an entertainment complex within walking distance to the parks and hotels, featuring themed dining, a variety of shops, a movie theater, live music and more.

Romantic Ceremony Locales

A number of fantasy settings are available:

  1. The ultimate in wedding fantasy is the garden near Sleeping Beauty Castle inside Disneyland.  The bride arrives regally from Main Street, U.S.A. in Cinderella’s Coach, led by a magnificent white horse and a footmen entourage, to exchange her vows with her own Prince Charming.  A spectacular reception can follow in Fantasyland, where the décor is vividly decorated in front of King Arthur’s Carrousel, bedecked with dazzling lights and impeccable cuisine.

  2. Cinderella’s Coach can also lead the bride to the Disneyland Hotel’s Wedding Gazebo in the Rose Court Garden, which accommodates up to 500 guests.  This gazebo proposes a truly romantic ambiance with more than 800 rose bushes along the stately lawn, where the horse-drawn carriage, fanfare trumpeters and a string quartet make a magical backdrop for the bride and groom.

  3. The natural ambiance of the Wedding Garden at the Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel welcomes the bride with a gracefully arching trellis, the simple beauty of an outdoor setting and a stone hearth patio inspired by the hotel’s early California craftsmen architecture.

Memorable Settings for Bridal Showers and Rehearsal Dinners

  1. The Practically Perfect Tea Room in Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel is an ideal choice for a private bridal shower with its Victorian flair, antique English accoutrements, light delectables and a famous, entertaining nanny, available for up to 50 guests.

  2. Downtown Disney is a lively, colorful district, full of restaurants, shops and bustling nightlife venues for a diversity of rehearsal dinner options to entertain the entire wedding party.  Such notable spots include Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen, House of Blues and ESPN Zone.

  3. Other possibilities include a bridesmaid tea party with the Mad Hatter, a rehearsal dinner topped off with a special viewing of Disney’s Electrical Parade or a dessert reception during Fantasmic! on the Rivers of America.
