It's "A Whole New World" at Hong Kong Disneyland, with a brand new theme park and an unusual new show of low-level pyrotechnics -- the after-dark entertainment extravaganza "Disney in the Stars."
"Disney in the Stars" combines music, fireworks and special effects to fill the air around and above Sleeping Beauty Castle with exploding stars telling magical stories from some of Walt Disney's most famous musical films.
The show brings Disney theme parks' 50 years of experience in staging pyrotechnics shows to Hong Kong Disneyland. Over those 50 years, Disney entertainment directors have continually made the shows more creative and technically innovative. Hong Kong Disneyland guests viewing "Disney in the Stars" will see a fireworks show like no other.
The adventure in light and sound begins as the audience sees fantasy images created by the colorful fireworks. With a little imagination inspired by the musical themes, the audience may imagine dancing at the ball with Cinderella or tumbling with Alice down the rabbit hole into Wonderland.
A chorus of Disney character voices creates a harmonized highway to the stars beginning with Aladdin's "A Whole New World." Each song is accompanied by a distinctive burst of aerial color in keeping with its storyline. Subsequent sequences feature "Alice in Wonderland," "Cinderella," "Mulan" and "Beauty and the Beast," and each sequence features the memorable music from the film it represents: "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo" from "Cinderella," the title melody from "Alice in Wonderland," "Honor To Us All" and "I'll Make A Man Out Of You" from "Mulan," and "Be Our Guest" from "Beauty and the Beast."
