Belle lives in a French town where she cares for her father, Maurice, and tries to ignore her suitor, the vain Gaston.
Whilst lost in the woods one day, Maurice comes across an old castle. The castle is inhabited by enchanted objects - Mrs Pots the teapot, Chip the cup, Lumiere the candlestick and Cogsworth the clock - once servants in the castle they were transformed into household objects when a spell was cast. In order to break the spell, the Beast must learn to love another and be loved in return.
