DINOSAUR!

Dinosaur is a fast paced, heart pounding race against time adventure in which you, the guest, are sent on a mission back through time to save the last Iguanadon form extinction.

You'll start your journey at the Dino Institute, a research and discovery lab where many prehistoric artifacts and fossils can be observed. Also in pre-show, a short film describes the asteroid collision which scientists believe created a sort of 'nuclear winter' that killed off plant life and ultimately led to the extinction of the dinosaurs. Moving into the Orientation room, you are told of the institutes latest technological breakthrough, a time rover vehicle which can transport visitors back to the age of dinosaurs. After its explained that you have been chosen to go on the supposed tranquil journey, renegade scientist Dr Seeker proposes another, more perilous mission for you to undertake, to rescue the herbivorous iguanodon at a time period dangerously close to that when the asteroid hit.

You will then board one of the 12-seater time rovers and begin your quest, accelerating into the darkness and emerging some 65 million years in the past. Dr Seeker relays instructions as you twist and turn over the rocky terrain and you soon realise the prehistoric forest you've landed amongst contains some pretty scary creatures, none more so than the carnivorous Carnotaurus. Many more surprises are in store as you bump and bounce you way through the dim surroundings, however, the asteroid approaches fast and it becomes uncertain whether you'll be able to finish your mission before impact. Power levels begin to fail on the rover and the mission takes one final twist before a final, desperate burst of speed allows you to snag the Iguanadon and crash back through time to the Dino Institute.

Due to the nature of the ride, which contains loud noises, flashing lights and dinosaurs moving towards you in near darkness, it can be quite frightening for children and even some adults too. The following dinosaurs appear in the attraction: Styracosaurus, Alioramus, Parasaurolophus, Velociraptor, Carnotaurus, Saltasaurus, Cearadactylus, Compsognathus and Iguanodon. This attraction was formerly named "Countdown To Extinction" and opened April 22nd 1998. Additional Information Guests must be able to transfer from wheelchairs to board the attraction. Guests must be 40 inches or above to ride. Warning! For safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure.
