DISNEY'S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS BACKLOT TOUR

At the end of Mickey Avenue, guests can board the Disney's Hollywood Studios Backlot Tour, an exciting demonstration of movie making magic and special effects. It also allows guests to get a behind-the-scenes look at a working wardrobe department, film props and a unique collection of vehicles in the tours 'boneyard' section.

Your tour begins in a specially designed outdoor set where water cannons and pyrotechnics help demonstrate sciences such as those seen in movies like "Pearl Harbour". If you're lucky, you may even get selected to be part of the show!

A 200-seat tram then transports you around the studio's working costume and prop areas, past a number of movie vehicles used in such film as "Dick Tracy", "Casablana", "Flight of the Navigator" & "Honey, I Blew Up the Kid!" (also look out for Walt Disney's personal jet located behind the Lights, Motor, Action! stadium) before heading into the unpredictable rocky canyon that is "Catastrophe Canyon!" The action rolls when an earthquake rocks the canyon walls with a mighty rumble, and triggers a series of firey explosions and flash floods, much to the surprise of unsuspecting guests.

The tour rounds off with a walk-through look at the exhibits of the American Film Institute Showcase.
