BUZZ LIGHTYEAR'S SPACE RANGER SPIN

To Infinity and Beyond! An instant hit when it first opened in '98 and a firm favourite amongst both young and old, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin see's you take on the Evil Emperor Zurg in this Toy Story themed shoot-em-up.
Guests board a 'space-cruiser' , take hold of their laser guns and take aim at a multitude of 'Z' targets scattered throughout the 10 different rooms. If that all sounds to simple, a 'spin' joystick between the riders allows you to hit those difficult to reach targets and rotate a full 360 degrees!
More complex targets score more points. Each space ranger's score is tallied electronically and displayed via an LED screen on the cruiser's dashboard. As cruisers complete the mission, guests compare their score with the mission profile chart to determine their space ranger rank.
But beware, this ride has a habit of making family members ultra competitive and you'll likely find yourselves returning again and again to try and beat each other!
Good luck space rangers, the Galactic Alliance is counting on you!

Tips & Fun Facts

Sit on the right if your right handed and the left if your left handed, this is so you can fire the laser with your strongest hand and move the spin joystick (in the centre) with the other.
There are some big scoring targets to look out for during the ride that score 100,000 points should you hit them. The first of these is on the back of the orange robots left hand who'll you'll find in the first room you enter. Another is found at the top of the volcano which erupts when hit. Another is found near the end but you'll have to find that one yourselves.
Generally, aiming for moving targets, far away targets or those low down will score you the most points.
As you go through the 'spinning room' hold down the fire button. Although there are no targets to aim at, 1000 points will be added to your score continuously.
Don't forget to smile at the photo opportunity! You can view it once you exit your vehicle in the merchandise area.

Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, presented by Mattel, opened in October 1998, replacing the Take Flight attraction. 'If You Had Wings' and 'Dreamflight' were also homed here in the past.
The photo ride opportunity was added to the attraction in 2003. Its the first to be available to ALL (not restricted by height requirements).
