Tips & Fun Facts
If you don't want to ride Space Mountain but still want to catch a sneak peak, ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. It goes right through. Alternatively, wait it out in the Tomorrowland arcade as riders exit via here.
If you are going to Space Mountain first at rope-drop, go to the end of Main Street, turn right past the Plaza Restaurant, & go up to the rope barrier at the Plaza Pavilion. You will then have a head start on those waiting at the bridge from the hub.
If your child isn't tall enough to ride, ask the Cast Member for a 'Mousernaut in Training' certificate.
The more weight you have in the vehicle, the faster it will go.
WDW's is Disney's first Space Mountain. Now Space Mountain is a popular attraction in Paris, Tokyo and in California.
There are two separate tracks, one having an extra turn. One is 10ft longer than the other, where they cross over. One track is 3,186 ft long, the other 3,196 ft.
Rising to a sloping, cone-shaped peak 183 feet above ground level, Space Mountain contains 4,508,500 cubic feet -- capable of holding a small skyscraper in its interior.
Guests are amazed that the maximum speed is 28 mph, because the attraction delivers high-speed thrills.
