Tips & Fun Facts
If you're visiting with children, Tom Sawyers Island can be a great way to escape the heavy crowds of a hot afternoon. Adults can take a time out at Aunt Polly's (open seasonally) while the kids can explore all that the Island offers including the Fort Langhorn play-area.
Restrooms are available here, both at the raft landing area and inside Fort Langhorn.
Keep a look-out for large paintbrushes scattered about the island. Should you find one, hand it in to a nearby cast member any you'll receive a prize.
Tom Sawyer Island opened in the Magic Kingdom in 1973.
Fort Langhorn was originally named Fort Sam Clemens. It was changed in 1996 following the release of Disney's feature film 'Tom and Huck'
The rafts to Tom Sawyer Island are not on a track or guiderail.

Hidden Mickeys
The hole in which the flames appear on the burning cabin on the island is in fact in the shape of a Mickey. It is difficult to see and is perhaps best seen from the Liberty Belle steamboat or on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
