A Bug's Life

A hardworking colony of ants are terrorized each year by a gang of grasshoppers led by Hopper, who demand their food harvest from them, leaving the ants with little to eat.

A young worker ant, Flik, tries to help by making a harvester gadget, but his plans go wrong and the offering is ruined. He is sent out of the colony to find a way to defeat the grasshoppers. He mistakes a group of circus bugs for warriors and enlists them in his plan to rid the colony of the grasshoppers.

Back at the colony ant princess Dot is threatened by a bird, and the circus bugs save her life. They agree to stay and help Flik to build a giant bird which they hope will frighten Hopper and his gang away. But before long the ants discover that the bugs aren't really warriors, and send them packing, along with Flik.

The grasshoppers return and threaten to squish the Queen, and work the ants to death, but Flik and his circus pals return and save the colony.
