The film was originally to be called "Two Fabulous Characters."
Cyril, Toad, Rat, Mole and two of the weasels from this film also make an appearance in the 1983 short, "Mickey's Christmas Carol."
The Ichabod section of the film is one of the few times in a Disney film in which the bully gets the girl.
The film won a Golden Globe in 1950 for Best Cinematography, Color.
