Lilo and Stitch Facts

Stitch's dog license shows the adoption official as "Susan Hegarty," which is the name of the actress that voiced her.

The license also shows that Lilo's surname is Pelekai.

When Stitch is in the dog pound, the dogs in his cell are the same breed as those that Lady meets at the dog pound in The Lady and the Tramp.

The film is set on the island of Kauai, as shown on the map of Experiment 626's projected landing.

Lilo and Stitch walk past a store selling calendars, and the Orlando calendar shows a picture of the Magic Kingdom.

A lot of the aliens in the film were inspired by Disney characters, including Tigger and Piglet.

The movie was promoted with trailers showing Stitch in some famous scenes from Disney movies:
Aladdin and Jasmine are on the magic carpet ride when Stitch steals her, from the film Aladdin.
During the opening "Circle of Life" scene from the Lion King, Stitch takes the place of Simba.
In the ballroom scene from Beauty and the Beast, Stitch makes the chandelier fall down to the floor, nearly hitting Belle and the Beast.

The characters pass a restaurant called the "Mulan Wok".

Nani has a poster of Mulan on her wall.

There is a Dumbo doll on the easel in Lilo's bedroom.

Lilo means "generous one" in Hawaiian, but can also be interpreted as meaning "lost."

Nani means "beautiful" in Hawaiian.

The sign on Lilo's bedroom door loosely translates as "keep out."

All the license plates in the film read A113, the same as used in many Disney films, including Toy Story and Cars. The number is a reference to a room at California Institute of the Arts, which is where many of the animators were educated.

Towards the end of the film, when Captain Gantu is tracking the location of Stitch, the tracking image he uses is Spaceship Earth, from Epcot.

There is a hidden Mickey on Jumba's platform in the Grand Council scene.
