The Lion King

The story of a young lion cub named Simba, born to King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi. Growing up in the Pride Lands he learns to hunt and embarks on fun adventures with his friend Nala, a lioness cub.

His evil uncle Scar plots to kill Mufasa, and convinces Simba that he is responsible for his father's death, urging him to run away and never return.

Simba flees the Pride Lands and is befriended by Pumbaa the warthog and his pal Timon, a meerkat. Together they teach the lion cub their "Hakuna Matata" (no worries) attitude, and spend their days eating bugs.

One day Simba, now a young adult, meets Nala who tries to persuade him to return to the Pride Lands which have been devastated under the rule of King Scar. At first Simba is reluctant, until the wise baboon Rafiki convinces him that his father's spirit lives on in him, and must return to take his rightful place as king.

Simba returns, much to the shock and surprise of his uncle Scar. A great fight ensues, but Simba manages to defeat Scar, regain his role as the Lion King, and falls in love with Nala.
