Aruba Water Sports Excursions

Sailaway Beach & Snorkel

Snorkel in the waters off the coast of Aruba — home to private coves and the Antilla shipwreck — before indulging in some fun in the sun at Palm Beach.

Abandon all worries as you gaze upon the sprawling unspoiled grandeur of Aruba's captivating shoreline — boasting craggy hillside climbs and secluded seaside coves — during a relaxing 50-minute cruise via motorized sailboat to Arashi Beach. During your journey, discover the history of the island from your friendly guide, and snap a picture of the pristine white sands along the island's west coast, including Manchebo Beach, Eagle Beach and Palm Beach. Upon your arrival, make your way to a shallow reef and immerse yourself in approximately 30 minutes of snorkeling and swimming. Skim the ocean surface and marvel at the magnificent marine life or dive down and take a closer look at the extraordinary coral formations. Bask in the cool breezes of this lush oasis amidst paradise, where swaying palm trees mingle with the sound of breaking waves, and surrender to the serenity that surrounds you at every turn.

Following your visit of Arashi Beach, embark on a 15-minute journey to arguably one of Aruba's most famous snorkeling sites: the Antilla shipwreck. Originally built in 1939 during World War II by the Germans, the 397-foot Antilla freighter was sunk in 1940 by the very country that created it in direct response to the impending threat of being commandeered by the Dutch. Today it is home to a kaleidoscope of tropical fish including angelfish, snapper, damsels and parrotfish. Upon your arrival, make a splash in the crystal blue water and enjoy a glimpse of a true relic of a time long since passed. Marvel at the exquisite iron and steel structure, as it rises out of the depths of the Caribbean, and revel in the unique coral formations that have given the vessel a mysterious yet spectacular character.

After your 30-minute expedition, make your way to picture-perfect Pelican Pier at Palm Beach and savor the flavor of a mouth-watering lunch. Then, soak up the sun and relax in the comfort of a cozy beach chair or swim in sparkling blue water some more. Sightsee during a stroll along the coastline or soar high in the sky during a parasailing adventure. Compete in a fun-filled game of beach volleyball or go on a nature hike through the verdant tropical landscape. After your approximate 90-minute visit, take in the sights once more as you begin your relaxing 30-minute trip back to the ship.

Scuba Dive

Take the plunge and immerse yourself in a two-tank scuba dive in Aruba, where the Antilla and the Pedernalis — two World War II shipwrecks — are yours to explore.

Sail the translucent blue waters off Aruba aboard a professional, 48-feet long, custom built dive boat and make your way through the picturesque bay to your first dive site: the Antilla shipwreck. Built by the Germans in 1939, the 397-foot, World War II freight ship was sunk in 1940 by the very country that created it in direct response to the inescapable threat of being commandeered by the Dutch. Today, as the second largest wreck in the Caribbean, it is home to a kaleidoscope of tropical fish and is considered to be one of the world's top 10 dive sites. Upon your arrival, take in a safety orientation and discover the history of this region from your friendly dive guide. Then, take the plunge into the breathtaking blue and immerse yourself in an underwater wonderland teeming with colorful and curious marine life. Explore the sunken vessel, boasting cavernous chambers of iron and steel now covered in age-old coral, and marvel at its near century-old condition as it rests silently — split in two halves — on the bottom of the ocean floor. After your approximate 40-minute dive, ascend from the depths and journey to a second dive site where you're invited to explore the wonders of the sea some more.

Following a 10-minute boat ride, arrive at another World War II shipwreck, the Pedernalis, and explore the sunken remains of this ancient ruin. Originally used as an oil tanker during the war, the Pedernalis was attacked by a German U-boat and eventually towed to the west side of Aruba where it was used for training sessions by the Dutch Navy. Dive down to a depth of 25 feet and explore this treasure in the sea — brimming with angelfish, snapper, damsels and parrotfish — as you experience a sense of calm and wonder you never knew existed. After approximately 40 minutes of exploration, resurface and begin your 30-minute return trip back to the ship, where you are invited to breathe in the fresh coastal air and bask in the endless sunshine.
