  • Embark on a 15-minute bus tour (approximate) around the oldest existing city in Western Europe. Founded in 1100 B.C. by the Phoenicians, Cádiz has remained one of Spain's principal ports for nearly a thousand years.
  • Journey to the Plaza de España nestled amidst a landscape of serene gardens where the famous monument of the 1812 Spanish Parliament stands.
  • Travel inland to the historic town of Jerez de la Frontera, home to dozens of wine companies. Take a short panoramic drive through the town.
  • Stop for approximately 90 minutes at Bodegas Gonzalez Byass for a guided tour and taste of the various types of wine, including the world-famous Sherry wine (Children under 21 years of age will be served a non-alcoholic beverage). Note: In order to visit the brandy cellar, Guests must descend 25 stairs; however, this portion of the tour is optional. Ramps are available during the remainder of the tour.
  • Afterward, take in the sights during your journey back to the pier.

Beekeeper for a Day

  • Take an approximate 60-minute drive to the Museum of Honey and Bees at Rancho Cortesano.
  • Learn about the history of one of the oldest forms of food production, beekeeping, during a guided tour.
  • Next, put on a hooded suit and gloves for an intimate glimpse of life inside a real beehive. Then, enjoy a cup of tea and a sampling of snacks during a break where children are invited to get their faces painted and enjoy the playground.
  • Afterward, gather at the onsite workshop to discover the fascinating process of making candles out of beeswax and rosemary during a hands-on experience.
  • Finally, receive a complimentary wax candle souvenir for participation in the workshop before embarking on a scenic drive back to the ship.

Bike Adventure at La Breña Natural Park

  • Leave the pier and drive along the coast to Vejer de la Frontera, where your bikes will be waiting for you.
  • After a short introduction and safety briefing, receive your mountain bike and helmet.
  • Your bike tour will begin by riding through the pine forest at La Breña Park on your way to the Cape of Trafalgar, where a famous lighthouse is situated.
  • Enjoy a beverage and sandwich at one of the rustic bars before experiencing some free time nearby the Trafalgar lighthouse.
  • Board the coach for the return journey to Cádiz.

Cádiz City Walking Tour

  • Embark on a guided walking tour (wear comfortable walking shoes) to San Felipe Neri Oratory (outside visit) where the first Spanish constitution was written in 1812. Note: This excursion includes approximately 3.5 hours of standing or walking across approximately 1.9 miles of flat terrain, cobblestones and steps.
  • Continue on your walking tour of historic Cádiz and enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the Torre Tavira, the tallest and most important of the city's 160 ancient watchtowers (inside visit). Note: Guests wishing to climb the Tavira Tower will need to ascend 150 steps to reach the Camera Obscura room and 20 additional steps to reach the top.
  • From there, continue to Plaza de Flores for approximately 40 minutes of free time to enjoy independent sightseeing or shopping. A voucher for a refreshment will be provided.
  • Afterward, proceed to the 18th-century Cádiz Cathedral for an outside visit. The cathedral is a world-famous landmark that features a magnificent gold dome and a Baroque façade, a testament to the glory days of Cádiz.
  • Make your way to nearby Town Hall at the Plaza San Juan de Dios and receive additional information about this historical site.
  • Take a 15-minute walk back to the ship.

Hiking in La Breña Natural Park

  • Start your hiking tour with a drive along the cost of the province of Cádiz towards Barbate, an old fishing village, once dedicated to tuna fishing, the so-called "Almadraba."
  • North of Barbate, the Natural Park "La Breña" possesses a variegated landscape and different ecosystems such as cliff line, pine forests, sand dunes, marshes and the beautiful golden beaches of the Atlantic coast. Note: This excursion includes 3.5-4 hours of walking on flat, uneven and sandy terrain. Guests must be in good physical condition.
  • You will walk above the coastline through sandy ground; at the lefthand side, you can see the ocean and at the right, the pines.
  • After approximately 2 miles of walking, reach the "Torre del Tajo," an old watchtower.
  • Continue to Los Caños de Meca, considered the last "Hippie Colony" at the Costa de la Luz.
  • Leave La Breña Natural Park and walk to the beach, where you continue walking along the shoreline.
  • Arrive at the Cape of Trafalgar with its historical lighthouse, renowned for the Battle of Trafalgar, which took place on October 21, 1805.
  • Enjoy a beverage and sandwich at a local bar.
  • Return to the ship.

Prominently perched atop a cliff overlooking the River Guadalete, Arcos de la Frontera signals the start of the Route of the White Villages of Cádiz and is known for its production of high quality oil and wine.
  • Upon your arrival, embark on an hour-long walking tour (wear comfortable shoes) including historic sites, small crafts shops and panoramic views. Fifteen minutes of free time will be provided for souvenir shopping. Note: This excursion includes approximately 1.8 miles of walking over flat terrain, steep hills, cobblestones and steps. In addition, Guests will need to climb 120 steps at the motor coach parking area.
  • Take a 45-minute drive (approximate) to the town of Jerez de la Frontera, known for Flamenco dancing, fine horses and sherry wine.
  • Upon your arrival to Jerez, visit an authentic wine bodega famous for its Bristol sherry wine and learn the secrets of fine wine-making during a guided tour.

  • Drive along the coast to Vejer de la Frontera, perched high above the steep gorge of the River Barbate.
  • Explore Vejer de la Frontera, declared as a national monument in 1978. This pretty village offers a perfect example of what many Andalusian towns were like during 5 centuries of Islamic rule.
  • Enjoy a 45-minute guided walk (wear comfortable walking shoes) through this charming town as you explore the cobble-stoned streets and the beautiful Plaza España, one of the prettiest village squares in Spain. Here you will have 15-minutes of free time to explore the local shops. Note: This excursion involves approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes of standing or walking across approx. 2.5 miles of flat terrain, uneven ground, steep hills, cobblestones and steps.
  • Enjoy a refreshment and some typical tapas of the region at the Hotel "Convento San Francisco".
  • Continue in the countryside passing through the Natural Park "La Breña," a beautiful and protected pine forest.
  • Visit Cape Trafalgar, the lighthouse marking the bleak headland where Lord Nelson won the Battle of Trafalgar, but sadly lost his life.
  • Next, continue to Conil de la Frontera, a small town with narrow cobbled streets, historical monuments, tapas bars and shops. Here you will have approximately 60 minutes of free time, perhaps to relax in one of the many tapas bars, people watch, shop for souvenirs or stroll along the golden beach.

  • Continue to the Barrio Santa Cruz district for a 45 minute walking tour (wear comfortable shoes). Visit such sites as Callejon del Agua and spend some time at the Plaza Alfaro, the inspiration for the balcony scene in "Romeo and Juliet" Note: This excursion includes approximately 3 hours of standing or walking across approximately 3 miles of flat and uneven ground, steps and concrete terrain.
  • Have approximately 45 minutes of free time in the St. Cruz Quarter (time permitting) and enjoy a refreshment in one of the local bars ( a voucher for a refreshment will be provided).

  • Take an approximate 2-hour drive past a picturesque landscape to the city of Seville.
  • Receive a map from your excursion escort, and then you are free to explore Seville at your own pace for approximately 5 hours. Note: The amount of walking is at the Guest's discretion; however, in order to fully enjoy the city, Guests should expect to walk 2-3 miles.
  • You may choose to explore the 14th-century royal palace of Alcázar, the gothic Cathedral, Torre del Oro watchtower or the shopping boulevards of Calle Siertes and Calle Tetuán. A popular area is Barrio Santa Cruz, where you can explore a maze of winding stone streets and whitewashed houses.
  • Return to your rendezvous point and take a 2-hour drive back to the ship.

  • An escort will be on the motor coach to and from Seville. This escort will provide each Guest with a mobile number to call in case of emergency during the unguided excursion.   • Take an approximate 60-minute drive through the Andalusian countryside to the hillside village of Medina Sidonia, considered by most to be the oldest city in all of Europe, and one of Spain's most important ducal seats in the 15th century.
  • Ascend the narrow cobblestone streets to the ruins of the medieval castle and fortress walls. Note: This excursion includes approximately 2 hours of standing or walking across approximately 1.8 miles of steeps inclines, cobblestones and flat terrain. In addition, Guests will need to climb 120 steps at the motor coach parking area.
  • Wander the main square and observe the Arab and Roman remains that are on display throughout the town.
  • Enjoy a guided walking visit through this picturesque White Village.
  • Depart Medina Sidonia and drive to the southern Spanish town of Arcos de la Frontera. Nestled atop a rock and surrounded by the Guadalete River on 3 sides, Arcos de La Frontera is one of the most picturesque white villages of Spain.
  • Enjoy approximate 15-minutes of free time to shop for souvenirs.
  • Stop at the beautiful Parador Casa del Corregidor, a restored 18th-century palace and one-time government seat of the king's magistrate in Arcos. Explore a labyrinth of narrow streets and alleyways as you make your way past the Pueblo Blancos.
  • After approximately one hour of sightseeing and exploration, take an approximate 60-minute ride back to the ship.

  • Wheelchairs (collapsible or electric) are not permitted. Tour operators will deny participation to Guests arriving in wheelchairs or electric scooters.
  • This tour is not accessible to strollers.
  • The order of tour sites may vary depending on traffic and overcrowding of venues.
  • Guests—including children—wishing to visit churches must ensure that shoulders and knees remain covered. Guests can wear shorts that reach below the knee and tank tops, as long as they bring a sweater or scarf to wrap around their shoulders.
  • Flash cameras are not permitted inside the church.
  • Guests are encouraged to bring credit cards or currency to purchase optional extras such as additional food and beverage or souvenirs.
  • Due to the extremely limited availability of this excursion, Guests are encouraged to book early.
  • You should never feel that gratuities are expected from you. However, it is customary to leave a few extra Euros in recognition of service at restaurants, for taxis, and for exceptional excursion guides and drivers.
