 Cozumel
|
Cozumel is a legendary island rich in Mayan and Mexican culture - famous for being one of the most breathtaking diving destinations in the world. Located about 40 miles south of Cancun, Cozumel is Mexico's largest Carbbean island.
The ship docks at Punta Langosta pier which is in the island's main town of San Miguel de Cozumel.
Across from the pier is Punta Langosta Mall, home to many shops and restaurants. Five blocks north is the central plaza, Muelle Fiscal, with shops, restaurants and a craft market.
If you want to explore the island or visit one of the beaches you'll need to take a taxi, or rent a car or scooter. Taxis are unmetered, and charge set fares for each destination. Approximate costs for a taxi trip for one or two people from the Pier to Chankanaab would be $9. An island tour would cost about $60.
