Cinque Terre Scenic Boat Tour

Take a 60-minute boat ride (approximate) past the villages named the "Cinque Terre" 5 small towns that seem frozen in time. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, these historic villages are brimming with old stone walls, winding paths, enchanting beaches and buildings that pepper the rocky cliffs. Each unique town also offers beautiful walking paths, churches, castles, breathtaking views and, of course, first-class food and wine. Note: This tour includes approximately 0.5 miles of walking at a steady pace, part of which will be on cobblestones and/or uphill.
First stop will be the village of Vernazza, where you can admire the elaborate architecture, a remnant of times when the city was under Genoese rule. Note: Depending on sea conditions, the cruise portion of the excursion may be substituted with a motor coach tour. If this is the case, you will visit Riomaggiore instead of Vernazza and will walk along the "Passeggiata dell'Amore" (sea lovers' promenade) to reach the village of Manarola. If the tour is changed, it will involve an additional 1.5 miles of walking.
After an hour of guided exploration (wear comfortable walking shoes), descend back to the port, and take a short 10-minute cruise to the town of Monterosso. This historic city lies on the summit of the hill of San Cristoforo, which separates the town into the old and new. On your 45-minute walking tour, wander the quaint winding streets as your guide shows you the points of interest.
Enjoy approximately 30 minutes of free time to sample some of the local culinary specialties (not included in the price of this tour), take in the idyllic views from the beach or browse the local shops.
Take the 60-minute cruise along the beautiful coastline back to La Spezia.

Its foundation lies in unstable soil and the tower began to lean shortly after construction started. Legend says that Galileo himself chose the tower as the site of his gravity experiments. Though it survived through the centuries, the landmark became increasingly unstable. Years of corrective and restorative efforts culminated in 2001 with a re-opening of the tower for tourists. The famous lean was intentionally preserved in order to maintain centuries of tradition.
