 Skagway
|
Skagway is a first-class borough on the south coast of Alaska, near the north end of the Lynn Canal on the Alaskan Panhandle.
It came to prominence during the Klondike gold rush in the late 1800s, and now subsists almost entirely on tourism.
Several of the area attractions revolve around the history of the gold rush, including the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park, and the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad.
Aside from the historical interest, visitors can enjoy its sweeping mountain and river views.
