The official language is Spanish. Here are some useful Spanish phrases.

The currency is the Euro. Major credit cards are accepted in most places, and currency can be exchanged at local banks or bureaux de change. ATMs are readily available in the city center.

Service charge isn't included at restaurants and it's recommended to leave 10% gratuity. The same amount is also acceptable for tipping taxi drivers.

It's easy to get around on foot, although the roads can be quite steep.

Metered taxis are readily available at the port.

Common sense is advised when it comes to safety - don't carry large amounts of cash, or important documents (passport, etc), keep bags secured and worn with a shoulder strap across your body. and be aware that pickpockets may be operating.
