The carousel opened with the park on February 8, 2001.
The carousel creatures are based on designs by Disney Legend John Hench.
The 56 ornately sculpted creatures have been hand-carved and painted in pastels by master craftspeople.
16 Californian boardwalks and piers are displayed around the carousel: Abbot Kinney Pier, Belmont Park, Fraser's "Million Dollar" Pier, Lick Pier, Looff's Pier, Nu Pike, Ocean Park Pier, Pacific Ocean Park, Pickering Pleasure Pier, Playland At The Beach, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, The Pike, Venice of America, Venice Pier, Virginia Park.
Additional Information
Guests must transfer from their Electric Convenience Vehicle to an available wheelchair to enter the attraction and transfer from their wheelchair to the ride vehicle by themselves or by assisted by members of their party to experience this attraction.
Wheelchair Access: Enter through the entrance to the right of the standard queue. Proceed to the loading area and contact a Cast Member for boarding instructions.
