WILDLIFE EXPRESS TRAIN

This british colonial design, steam engine locomotive is your one and only method of transportation that takes you out to Rafiki's Planet Watch, an interactive, fun-filled centre of activity focusing on animals worldwide. Its 1.2 mile circuit takes guests down a narrow valley between Africa and Asia, allowing a brief look at some of the behind-the-scenes animal care facilities that provides night-time shelter for many of the safari animals, as well as preparing you for what lies ahead with the odd viewing area en route.

Tips & Fun Facts

If you arrive around park opening, why not grab a fastpass for nearby Kilimanjaro Safari's before jumping aboard the Wildlife Express and visiting Rafiki's Planet Watch before the crowds build.

Trains leave every 5-7 minutes.
Early plans for Animal Kingdom initially showed a steam railway meandering through the savannah plains. However the idea was modified on safety grounds to avoid wild animals strolling onto the tracks or being scalded by steam should they get too close.
