Steak and Bean Soup Recipe from Yachtsman Steakhouse


1 lb Bottom round steak, cut into 1/2" cubes
2 Tbsp Vegetable oil
1 cup Onion, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup Celery, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup Carrot, coarsely chopped
1/4 tsp Garlic, minced
3 qt Beef stock OR broth
1 cup Kidney beans
1 cup Pinto beans
1 dash Tabasco
Salt and pepper
1/4 cup Tomato paste


Soak beans in cold water overnight. Rinse and drain twice until quite dry.

Heat oil in soup pot; brown the meat.

Add onion, celery, carrots, and garlic, saute until tender.

Add stock and beans and simmer for 45 minutes or until beans are tender.

Add Tabasco (to taste), salt and pepper.

Stir in tomato paste and simmer for 5 minuntes
